This Gothic church in the Historic District of Annapolis was built on the property of a Revolutionary patriot who
cherished freedom of religion and nurtured it in his own com-munity and beyond, to the nation. St. Mary’s is attended by the fathers and brothers of the Congregation of the Most Holy Re-deemer (Redemptorists) and the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
Redemptorist novices, seminarians, and brothers helped build the 7,000 square foot church between 1858 and 1860. It was designed by architect Louis L. Long. Frescoes of the Ascen-sion and the Good Shepherd flank the high altar, which is made entirely of wood.
The five statues on the altarpiece are from left: St. Joachim, father of Mary, the Mother of God; St. Alphonsus Liguori, Bish-op and Doctor of the Church and founder of the Redemptor-ists; Mary, the Immaculate Conception, patroness of the church; St. Theresa of Avila, Doctor of the Church and Sixth century Mystic; and St. Anne, Mother of Mary, holding the child Mary. The statues to either side of Mary were installed in 1885.

Welcome to St. Mary’s High School, Annapolis!
St. Mary’s is a unique, Catholic, college-preparatory parish high school with a rich history and a bright future in the heart of downtown Annapolis on the banks of Spa Creek. Built on a solid foundation that be-gan with the Redemptorists and was guided by the charism of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, we aspire to nur-ture our students to be servant leaders in the twenty-first century.
During the special moments of high school, our young men and women take risks and try new experiences to learn more about the gifts and talents God provided each one of them. It is St. Mary’s mission to serve our students along this journey of academic, social, physical, and spiritual formation.
Through our dedication to developing the entire child, mind, body, and spirit, we ensure our students live the best academic experience possible, while also having opportunities to participate in athletics, clubs, and other extracurricular activities.
Demonstrating our commitment to faith, we have an active Cam-pus Ministry that guides our community to recognize Christ in others and to include God in our lives, no matter our walk of faith. The experienced, committed, and talented faculty and staff of St. Mary’s High School take pride in embracing every student as an individual and guiding each student to reach the fullness of his or her potential as individuals in God’s image.
The athletic department, under the leadership of Mrs. Allison Fondale, provides our students with various opportunities to learn, play, and grow through interscholastic competition. The Saints rise to the challenge to lead by example on and off the field, showing their dedication, courage, and integrity in all that they do.
Thank you for supporting our students throughout this season and the remainder of this school year.
Go Saints!
Allison FondaleDIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS
Welcome to St. Mary’s Athletics and our Saints Football Program! Our
School’s strong traditions and Catholic val-ues provide the foundation for our teams and create a winning atmosphere of hard work, competitiveness and growth.
The St. Mary’s High School Athletic Department is comprised of 14 sports, 33 teams and over 400 student athletes! We offer Junior Varsity and Varsity teams and in some cases, freshman-sophomore teams. All of our boys teams participate in the MIAA Conference and our girls programs participate in the IAAM Conference, both of which are extremely competitive. During the 2014-2015 season St. Mary’s High School won a school record six Conference Championships (girls soccer, boys swimming, girls swimming, varsity baseball, JV baseball and boys lacrosse)!
At St. Mary’s our student athletes, coaches and staff strive for excellence in everything they do. Success at St. Mary’s requires the highest level of commitment and work ethic in the classroom, on the field and in the community. The athletic department which includes over 60 coaches understands and supports the mission of St. Mary’s High School. Our goals are to develop strong athletes, strong students and to develop our student-athletes into strong leaders. We want to be competitive and to be a positive representative of St. Mary’s High School and the Athletic Department.
Best of luck to the St. Mary’s High School JV and Varsity football teams this season. GO SAINTS!
Fr. John Tizio, C.Ss.RTHE PASTOR
Father John Tizio comes to St. Mary’s via Brooklyn, New York, where he was born
and raised. One of eight children, Father Tizio was ordained a Redemptorist Priest in 1985.
Father’s first assignment was at St. Mi-chael’s Church in Baltimore, where he stayed for over 6 years. His next appointment brought him here to St. Mary’s in Annapolis. In 2005, Father Tizio was assigned as Pastor to St. Martin of Tours, in Bethpage, Long Island. From there, he came back to St. Mary’s in Annapolis as Pastor.
Best of luck, Saint Mary’s Football Team
Go Saints!

Seniors,Writing the seniors’ messages has been an emotional event for me. I have known and coached many of these boys since youth football. I have grown very attached to all of them and it’s hard for me to say goodbye. They are a big reason why I put in for the coaching job at St. Mary’s. This senior class has been through a lot over the last four years and they have managed to keep their heads up and fought through all of the adversity that has come their way. I’m hoping that I can make their senior year one that they will look back on years from now with pride. They are all great kids who are growing into outstanding young men, with bright futures. It has been my honor to be their coach and this class of Saints will always be very special to me.
—Coach Budroni

ST. MARY’S FOOTBALL 2015SENIOR S
1 - Patrick Hines Running Back/Linebacker
2012-2015 Varsity Football, JV Lacrosse, COSA rep, Kairos leader, Wrestling, Track, Drama
Patrick is special young man. He’s a tremendous player on the field, with an unbelievable motor and he has a great outlook on life. I remember the first time I saw Patrick play; I knew that day that he was a special player. He has only proven me right over his career as a Saint. Our team feeds off Patrick’s play in games. When Patrick is having a great day running the ball, dragging defenders and moving piles forward then it seems like everyone just plays better. ~Coach Budroni
Keep up your hard work, it will take you far. We have enjoyed watching you grow into a fine young man over the years. We love you and are so proud.
Love, Dad, Mom, AnnMarie, Grant, Julie, Emma, and Sophie
2 - Kyle Godlewski Tight End/Linebacker
Kyle is the end of the Godlewski St. Mary’s Godlewski football trilogy which began in 2009. From the “rabbit” that went to Washington & Lee camp as an 8th grader and suited up with his brothers on the varsity in 2012, Kyle has grown into the wonderful player he has become in 2015.
Although Kyle is the third Godlewski to graduate from St. Mary’s, Kyle is definitely a one of a kind individual. To say that “Kyle has been a lot of fun to coach” is an understatement. Kyle is an extremely entertaining person and while some of his shenanigans left me scratching my head, Kyle’s dedication to the team is never in doubt. I talk a lot about playing with “Saints Pride” to the team and Kyle is a perfect example of what that means. He plays his heart out, never stops working and will do whatever it takes to help the team. I have never heard Kyle complain or
whine about his position, playing time or his role on the team once over the last four years. He is the true definition of a teammate. ~Coach Budroni
Kyle, we are proud of your leadership, endless energy, and unique sense of humor on and off the field. We are also indebted to Coach Gonos who has had such an impact on all three of the Godlewski Polish boys at the linebacker position these past seven years.

3 - Brandon Booth Wide Receiver/Free Safety
Brandon is a two sport athlete participating in football and basketball all four years of high school. He is an honor student with a passion to excel in the classroom and on the field.
Brandon made the transition to wide receiver and free safety from quarterback without missing a beat this season. Brandon is a perfect example of what a great work ethic looks like. I would actually get frustrated during summer workouts because no matter how hard I made the workouts, Brandon would breeze through them. Brandon transferred into St. Mary’s his junior year and quickly bonded with the team. We are expecting big things from Brandon on the field and are counting on him to be a leader this year both on and off the field. ~Coach Budroni
Brandon, we are very proud of you. Your incredible work ethic, drive to succeed, strong faith, and compassion for others will ensure you are successful as you move into this new chapter in life. Always make good choices because every choice matters!
Love,Mom, Dad, Emily, and Paco
7- Monte Jones Running Back/Linebacker
4 year Varsity starter, All State as a freshman, Defensive MVP as a sophomore, All County and All Conference each year
Monte’s ability on the football field is undeniable. He has terrorized opposing offenses as a varsity starter for his entire career at St. Mary’s. Off the field, everyone loves Monte. He is a polite and charismatic young man who is great with people. I’m going to miss my man, coaching at St. Mary’s isn’t going to be the same without him. ~Coach Budroni
Monte aka MJ,We, the family and friends, are very proud of everything that you do in your accomplishments and achievements. With that being said I’m sure that there is no one more proud of you than your mom. I know for a fact that every day she smiles down from heaven at the wonderful, phenomenal young man that you have grown to be. You have done so many great things in your life and you still have so much wonderful life ahead of you. We all wish you the best of luck. We all love you and know that you will turn out to be a great man.

10- Josh Gonos Free Safety/Wide Receiver
2012 JV Football Captain, Varsity Football player, Lacrosse player, Honor Roll student
I first met Josh when I was coaching youth football at Cape St. Claire. Josh always does whatever the team asks of him and has a great attitude while doing it. Josh missed last season due to injury but made it back for his senior year. I am very excited to have him back on the team. Josh is great athlete and has a great personality. I am honored to have been Josh’s coach for the last several years. He’s an outstanding young man and it means a lot to me to be able to coach him for his senior year. ~Coach Budroni
Always believe in yourself, Josh, as much as we believe in you. Continue to work hard both on and off the field and good things are sure to happen. We’re proud of you and will love you always!

11 - Chey Dowell Wide Receiver/ Outside Linebacker
2010 County Football Champion, 2012 JV Football, 2013-2015 Varsity Football
Chey is a gifted athlete who has played almost every position on the field at one time or another over his football career as a Saint. He’s played: tight-end, wide receiver, slot, H-back, long snapper, punter, punt returner, kick returner, defensive line, and outside linebacker. Off the field, Chey has become like a second son to me and I have enjoyed coaching him and watching him mature. ~Coach Budroni
Time stops for no one, you have grown up so fast... Stay focused on being the best Chey that you can be. We LOVE YOU more than will ever know. We are so proud of you. Continue to DO-WELL and never give up.

13 - Dominic Canterbury Wide Receiver Defensive End/ Punter
2012 JV Football, 2014-2015 Varsity Football
Dominic definitely receives the award for biggest growth spurt. Dominic was 5’6 115 pounds his freshman year and now stands 6’4 and weighs 190lbs. Dominic didn’t play his sophomore year but came back his junior year and is now our starting punter. He also plays wide receiver and defensive line and is always willing to jump in at any position needed to help the team get better. He’s a great kid with and good sense of humor. I’m glad that he made the
decision to come back out for football his last year. Dom is a lot of fun to have around. ~Coach Budroni
Other things may change us, but we start and end with family. Anthony Brandtes
We love you Dom- the boy you have been, and the man that you are becoming. We are lucky to have seen you through it. All the best as you move on to college.
Love, Matt, Leslie, Sarah and Julian
18 - Kevin Sheckells Quarterback 2013-2015 Varsity Football
Kevin has really stepped up as leader. He has put in a lot of hard work in the off season to make his senior season a special one. Kevin is a big, strong player with a cannon for an arm. I thoroughly enjoy watching him run the ball and just crushing players who are trying to tackle him. Kevin is our starting quarterback and we will only go as far as he takes us. I ‘m confident that he will get the job done. ~Coach Budroni
Kevin, we are so proud of you. Watching you shine on the football field has been a joy throughout the years. You are truly wonderful to watch. Your determination, leadership and maturity on and off the field never cease to amaze us. There is nothing you can’t do! May God bless you in everything you do.

2012 JV Football, winner of the 2013 St. Mary’s Pizza Eat-ing Contest, 2015 JV Lacrosse, 2015 Varsity Football
I am very excited to have Jake back on the team for his senior season. Unfortunately, he has not been able to play since his freshmen year due to injury. Jake brings a ton of energy and enthusiasm to the team. He’s willing to play anywhere on the field and does whatever the team needs. It’s great to have him back. ~Coach Budroni
Jacob, we are very proud of you. You showed great perseverance and strength in getting through your collarbone surgery and back to playing football. We love you a lot and know you are going to do some great things in the future.
Love,Mom and Dad
45 - Dylan Budroni Defensive End/ Tight End
2012 JV Football, 2013-2015 Varsity Football, member of the 2015 MIAA Championship Lacrosse team
It has been an incredible experience for me to have coached Dylan, my son, during his youth and high school football career. Coaching your son or being coached by your father isn’t always easy but Dylan and I have become closer from it. This will be our last season on the field together and knowing that this chapter of our lives is coming to a close is tough for me. Words cannot express how proud I am of Dylan for everything he has accomplished on the football field
and for the young man he has become. ~Coach Budroni
Dylan, you make us proud every day.Continue to work hard and dream big!
We love you, Mom, Dad and Drea

54 - Paul Zacharski Guard/Defensive End
2012 JV Football, 2012 JV Baseball, 2013-15 Varsity Football, 2014 Varsity Captain, 2014 Catholic HEART Work Camp
Paul battled back from an injury last season and is one of the players who we count on. Paul has put in a tremendous amount of work in the off season and has stepped up as a team leader. After playing tight end for us his sophomore and junior seasons, we had to move Paul to guard this year. Nobody ever likes being moved to guard but Paul accepted this move without
issue because it was what is best for the team. Paul has done very well at guard and our offensive line is one of the better lines in the conference with Paul on it. Paul has a great attitude and he brings a lot of energy to the team. ~Coach Budroni
Paul, Enjoy your Senior Year! Faith, Focus, Finish! We love you very much!
Mom, Dad, Joseph and Nathan
62 - Tyler Sisk Offensive Line/ Defensive line
2012 JV Football, 2013-2015 Varsity Football
I have known Ty for a long time and I have always been impressed by his maturity. Ty is a great guy to have a conversation with; he has a great sense of humor and he’s wise beyond his years. On the field Ty is a tough competitor and gives the team everything he has. Ty started at guard his junior year, and when we asked him to move to center this season he didn’t bat an eye, he just started snapping. Ty is a great of example of dedication that we are looking for in a
Saints football player. ~Coach Budroni
Ty, we have had so much fun watching you play football over the years! Your commitment and dedication is such an integral part of who you are both on and off the field. Have a great senior year! We love you! Go Saints!
Champions are champions not because they do anything extraordinary but because they do the ordinary things better than anyone else. ~Chuck Noll

75 - Patrick Swalwell Offensive Line/Defensive Line
2015 Varsity Football, 2016 Class President four years, member of St. Mary’s 13 Year Club, Life Scout, two time BSA National Jamboree participant, two time BSA Philmont High Adventure Camp participant We have been trying to get Patrick to come out to play football for years and this year he finally decided to play. We are expecting him to catch on quickly and we can definitely use him. I haven’t known him for that long but so far I like what I see. He works hard and has a great attitude. I am very happy to have Patrick become a member of the team.
We love you Patrick! Go Saints!
76 - Noah Rosseau Offensive Line/Defensive Line
A four-year starting Varsity lineman. Also plays lacrosse and wrestled. Well traveled. Honor Roll student and a COSA member. Enjoys fishing and boating.
Replacing Noah on the offensive line is going to be a challenge. Noah has been an anchor at left tackle for us since his freshmen year. Noah is a great example of the type of player we are looking for at St. Mary’s. He plays his heart out every game and goes the extra mile for the team. We need more kids like Noah in our program.
Noah,10 years of football from the DAA Gators to your final year at St. Mary’s. There are so many great memories that we have shared and friends we have made along the way. You have worked hard and stayed focused, we are so proud of you Noah! If you allow God to be your source of strength, then anything will be possible We love you,‘Dad, Mom & Spira

77 - Robert Smoloski Offensive Line/Defensive Line
Four year Varsity starter, two year two way starter, 2014 Varsity Captain, Varsity baseball pitcher, National Honor Society and Principal’s Honor Roll
Rob has been a menace to opposing varsity defensive players since his freshmen year. He plays with a passion and toughness that is rare nowadays. While Rob is a bit on the quiet side, his actions on the field do all of his speaking for him. Rob’s dedication, work ethic and play on the field will be the mark that all future Saint’s offense linemen will be held to.
Robert, we love the intensity with which you play the game and live your life. Keep having fun. We enjoy watching!!!

Jack McCarthy Manager
2013-2014 JV Football, 2015 Varsity Manager
Jack, aka Alaska, decided to come out for football for the first time his sophomore year. Jack had a great attitude and was full of enthusiasm. He was always decked out in all the newest gear and really had a great work ethic on the field. This off season Jack approached me about becoming a manager instead of being a player. I initially attempted to talk Jack out of this but he had made his mind up. Jack has been doing a great job as manger and has really been a huge benefit to the team. We have a strong tradition of
having great managers at St. Mary’s and Jack’s addition to the crew has only added to it.
Jack came to Saint Mary’s the fall of 2012. After dedicating two years to the team as a playrer, he decided to manage. He hopes to continue this path after St. Mary’s and be a manager in college.
“I would like to thank the Coaches for their tireless dedication to St. Mary’s and the team.”
Tre D’Amico Manager 2015 Varsity Manager
Tre came out to play football for his senior year and the coaching staff was very excited to have him on the team. However, after committing to play baseball in college, he was worried about getting injured playing football. After talking with Tre, he let me know that he still wanted to be part of the team and decided to stay on as a manger. Tre has done a great job as a manger and although I’d love to see him in pads, I am happy that he’s part of our football program.
Your senior year has come so fast! Good luck next year! Proud of you, Love Mom
