Appointments missedor cancelled at shortnoticeWe understand that plans can changeunexpectedly. When you miss anappointment it adversely affects otherpatients and the practice. At present we areexperiencing a large increase in short noticecancellations and missed appointments whichis causing a significant increase in waitingtimes for patients. We are therefore adaptingour current approach to your appointmentreminders.

The new protocol from 01/05/2018 will be:4 week email reminder 5 day email reminder 72 hour text reminderGiven the comprehensive nature of yourreminders we will in future increasinglyenforce a charge for missed appointments forthose patients that regularly fail to attend orcancel at short notice. During the month ofMarch we had over 130 failed appointments. This represents a huge loss in patientappointments and cannot be sustained.
