MUSICIAN IN RESIDENCE It is with sadness that we say farewell to our musician in residence Aidan O'Rourke as his residency, funded by Scottish Arts Council pARTners scheme, has come to an end. We feel immensely privileged to have had this opportunity to develop the relationship between the Tolbooth, Aidan and all the young people he has worked with. A big thanks to Aidan from us all.

Our current programme explores the unique architectural and civic history of our new gallery space at Tolbooth by positioning the work of contemporary artists in a new context.

Concrete Shadows

Kate Davis, Ines Schaber, Lucy Skaer, Catherine Street

15 November - 17 January

This exhibition is part of a longer-term project focussing on direct links between women artists from three generations, hinged on either side of the major feminist movement of the 1970’s. The project aims to create new dialogues, explore strategies of production adopted and adapted by artists, as well as looking at ways that artists reference work from the past and how this raises an awareness of the passing of time.
