St. Baldrick’s is an organization that raises funds for research to find a cure for childhood cancer. I am an elephant enthusiast. I think that they are easily the coolest living creature right now, and I cannot imagine one day having children who never get to see an elephant even in a zoo. African elephants are being hunted for the ivory in their tusks. Poachers corner them, shoot them, cut off their tusks, and leave them to die. This has to stop. Though the season has just begun, the team has been training throughout the winter. New ‘Stinger’ choir gives joyful performancesBy Caroline StewartLayout Editor Attention is being drawn to the six-month-old ‘Stinger’ choir here at Zion- Benton. This choir is made up of students from the Special Education program. So far they have participated in two concerts. The winter concert was their first performance. They sang “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer” with the other four choirs, and then they sang ‘Let It Go’ with only a few helpers from the other choirs. One of the ‘Stinger’ choir memebers said, “Frozen (‘Let It Go’) is my favorite song to sing because it makes me feel very happy.” They also performed “Happy” at the pops concert in February.
