Standard of Performance

• A reference for all players and parents on what is expected in all areas whilst at the Club

• All training sessions and matches will be covered by fully qualified Sports Therapists and/or Physiotherapist from Stevenage FC

• Acute injury management at all training sessions and matches

• Largest and most experienced medical department the academy has ever had

Pre-participation Medical Screening

• To ensure the health and safety of all players• Provide accurate information on each medical and physical

attribute• Be easy to implement and therefore repeatable at times other

than those mandated• Allow collection of the most useful information in the shortest

possible time• Provide a method to identify and track the medical and

physical status of young players• Allow comparisons against baseline data upon onset of injury

Injury Reduction

• Presentations of injury prevention will be uploaded onto the website for your viewing

- Ankle, thigh and hamstring specific programmes

• Corrective exercises devised from medical screening process

Returning to Training

• If players report injured to the medical department then they must receive clearance to return to training

• Failure to do so will revoke their right to treatment at Stevenage FC for any recurrence of injury

• This is to ensure that an audit of injuries can be kept and that effective strategies can be implemented to reduce injury incidence
