teve is a senior advisor at Goldman Sachs, where he advises the firm on a number ofimportant client-facing initiatives. Previously, Steve was head of GlobalInvestment Research for more than 12 years.He was a member of the ManagementCommittee and Firmwide Client andBusiness Standards Committee. Steve wasalso co-chair of the Firmwide TechnologyRisk Committee. Additionally, he also servedas global head of strategy research and co-chief operating officer of Global InvestmentResearch, as well as global head ofcommodities research. Steve joined GoldmanSachs in 1994 and was named managingdirector in 1998 and partner in 2002. Prior to joining the firm, Steve spent 12years at the Federal Reserve Bank ofChicago, most recently as the director ofMonetary Policy Research. Before that, hewas an economist at the Center for the Studyof Economy and State at the University ofChicago and a researcher at PanHeuristics, a
think tank focused on military strategy andenergy policy. Steve is a distinguished visiting professorat the Pardee RAND Graduate School and amember of the Board of Directors of OceanConservancy. In addition, he is a member ofthe Advisory Council to the College at theUniversity of Chicago, a member of the Juryof the World Resources Institute’s Ross Prizefor Cities, and a member of the BeckerFriedman Institute Advisory Council.Previously, he was a member of the AdvisoryBoard of the RAND Center for CorporateEthics and Governance. Steve earned undergraduate and graduatedegrees in economics from the University ofChicago and a graduate degree inmanagement from Northwestern University’sKellogg School of Management.
