About Siemens Rail Systems in the UK

• 700 highly skilled employees nationwide from diverse backgrounds such as yacht building and Formula 1 in addition to rail experts

• Use a ‘pit-stop’ approach to train maintenance to maintain 10 fleets of trains across seven train operating companies

• Each year our trains travel some 50 million miles around the UK, from Scotland to the South of England

• The business has almost 650 UK suppliers, over 80 of which also supply to Siemens rolling stock activities outside the UK and over 80% of our third party purchasing spend is with suppliers in the UK

• Siemens wider UK business activities support 54,000 jobs in the UK economy

• We are adopting the BS11000 collaborative working-standard for key relationships.

By taking a long-term partnership approach we help suppliers be the best they can be.
