Stern Grove Festival is Your Festival.

In 2012 you celebrated the Festival’s 75th Season and a legacy of world-class performances in an unparalleled natural setting. We hope you were among the more than 90,000 audience members who enjoyed memorable moments and captivating performances all season long.

From the Festival’s new opening day party, The Big Picnic, all the way to the final concert with OK Go, 10,000 people, and a beautiful summer’s day, the 75th Season was a remarkable success and a true celebration of our vibrant community.

Beyond the stage, this year the Festival also expanded its Youth Arts outreach programs to reach more audiences of tomorrow with interactive and engaging education programs. Looking forward, we are creating even more new Youth Arts programs to serve a broader constituency.

From its very beginnings, Stern Grove Festival has always been for the community, and made possible by the community. The support of donors, members, sponsors, foundations, volunteers and our city make each summer season possible.

Programs are led by diverse, local teaching artists

The Festival’s admission-free Youth Arts programs inspire, educate, and motivate the next generation of arts patrons and performers. This year’s program’s included:

Kids Days - a series of four different interactive workshops focused on a specific art form or culture.

Kids Camp - two cumulative three-day arts education workshops with SFJAZZ and San Francisco Ballet Center for Dance Education.

KidStage - hands-on activities before each Sunday concert.

The Festival also presented four pre-concert Troc Talks with artists, enhancing the concert experience by giving the audience insight into the performer’s culture and influences.
