In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn about our commercial and contractual arrangements with Caterpillar and Komatsu to support these deployments, and what is required for

the effective and engaged contract management of these high-value contracts as well as developing relationships with key internal stakeholders and key vendor personnel.

Supported by a nominated buddy, in this role you will:

Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP "Our Requirements" Group Level Documents, Business Level Documents, Code of Business Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.

Have an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development, and ensure adherence to BHP's Contractor Management Framework, including coaching suppliers, Contract Owners and Contract Owner Representatives to optimise supplier performance within this framework.

Review and develop a base understanding of the key commercial and contractual obligations relating to Caterpillar (and its Dealers) and Komatsu involved in the AHA deployment.

Develop an appreciation of commercial key value drivers and other considerations important to BHP to manage risk.

Proactively manage the commercial terms of the applicable contracts, e.g. price reviews and facilitate periodic review meetings.

Drafting variations to contracts as required, and maintain contract data in BHP’s SAP and GCMS systems.

Support PC&P's accountability to ensure the ongoing contract performance of Caterpillar (and its Dealers) and Komatsu involved in the AHA deployment, including attending all required deployment project management office meetings, facilitating development of all required scopes of work and work package instructions, attending all required vendor meetings, ensuring vendors are performing to the contract requirements and rectifying non-conformances to contract terms.

Provide proactive administration and management of contracts (including strategically critical) within the OEM procurement workstream, including KPI reporting, spend analytics, identification of scope creep, and off-contract spend.

Maintain relationships with key delivery stakeholders to become a valued commercial business partner, trusted with commercial support, negotiations with vendors and on-going contract management.

About You

You will be an organised individual who enjoys working in a fast paced, and sometimes ambiguous, environment and who has interest in law, accounting, commerce or engineering. While much of this role will be supporting the commercial execution activities relating to the AHA deployment, it will rely on your problem-solving skills, curiosity to know more, ability to switch between the detail and the bigger picture, and your interpersonal skills to engage with, and influence, stakeholders and suppliers drive a commercial solution. You will be supported by your manager and a nominated buddy at all times during this internship.
