‘BOL’ – BUSINESS ONLINE

The project worked on was written in-house at SBSA. It caters for all Corporate clients Banking requirements including Payments, Collections and Statements in various formats. I assisted with various enhancements and with the preparation of data for conversion to SAP.

‘ATG’ – AFRICAN TRANSACTIONAL GATEWAY

The system was written in-house at SBSA to facilitate Corporate clients who require a means of payment and collection on the African Continent. Utilises propertary products CIG (Customer Information Gateway) and SFI / DAPP (File payment system). Caters for cross-border and cross currency functionality and MT940/MT942 Swift statements.

The system was written in-house at SBSA to track Corporate clients take-up of the facilities they have negotiated with the bank. This included SARB requirements.

‘CUPL’ – CASH UPLOAD

This system was written in-house at SBSA to handle the automatic crediting of corporate client’s accounts before the actual cash in the deposit is verified by the Bulk Cash Deposit.

‘SBUT’ – STANDARD BANK UNIT TRUSTS

This system was written in-house at SBSA to handle the Standard Bank Unit Trust business and was implemented in July 1990. It interfaced with 18 other Standard Bank systems. After the amalgamation of the Standard Bank and the Liberty Life Unit Trust businesses in 2001, the new business unit converted to the ‘SILICA’ system by Liberty Life.

‘PPAS’ – PERFORMANCE AND PROFITABILITY SYSTEM

Part of a development team coding online capture programs. I had minimal exposure to Cobol batch programs.

‘CCCS’ – CORPORATE CREDIT CONTROL SYSTEM

This is an accounting system showing details, limits and balances of corporate customers within certain risk groups using hierarchies. I was part of a development team coding and implementing NATURAL online and batch programs.

NON IT 1976 – May 1986

I initially worked in Standard Bank branches in the different departments e.g. Telling, Foreign Exchange, etc. For the last 2 ½ ears in this position I was part of a team travelling around the country converting SBSA branches from manual systems on to the SBSA computer systems.
