NCRAME 2017A National Conference on Recent Advances in Mechanical Engineering is being organized by National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra. The conference aims to stimulate the exchange of information on current research & development and sharing of relevant experience in the emerging areas of Mechanical Engineering viz., CAD/CAM/CAE, CFD, E RP, Robot ics , Tr ibo logy , Mechatronics , Aerodynamics , Nanotechnology, Optimization Techniques, Energy Management, Entrepreneurship, Energy Conservation, Artificial Intelligence and Neural Networks etc. This conference NCRAME 2017 shall provide a useful forum to the academicians, technologists, entrepreneurs, research scholars and policy makers to exchange concepts in the above areas and to enhance their knowledge in the respective domains for further benefit of the mankind at large.ABOUT KURUKSHETRAKurukshetra is a place of religious pilgrimage and historical significance.
It is the land of Mahabharata and place where sermons of 'Bhagwad Gita' were delivered. In medieval period, Thanesar, the old city, was the seat of power of Harshwardhana. Kurukshetra is well connected with rail/road. It is a railway junction on Delhi-Ambala section and is situated on National Highway No. 1 (G.T. Road). It is approximately 160 km from Delhi, 100 km from Chandigarh and 194 km from Shimla. NIT Kurukshetra is about 10 km from Pipli and 6 km from Kurukshetra railway station.ABOUT NIT KURUKSHETRANational Institute of Technology Kurukshetra is an Institute of National Importance of the country and has been a premier technical institute of the region. Founded in 1963 as Regional Engineering College Kurukshetra, the institute was rechristened as National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra on June 26, 2002. The institute offers 4-year B.Tech. Degree courses in the engineering streams of Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics & Communications, Mechanical, Information Technology and Production & Industrial Engineering. The institute also
runs 2-year M.Tech. Degree courses in 22 areas of specializations of science & technology and post - graduate courses leading to the degrees in MBA and MCA. In addition to providing instructions in various disciplines of Engineering and Technology at the Undergraduate and Post-graduate levels, the institute has excellent facilities for research in the emerging areas including Nanotechnology, Ergonomics, Robotics, CAD/CAM, Cyber Security, VLSI, Energy and Environment. The infrastructure is geared to enable the institute to turn out technical personnel of high quality.ABOUT DEPARTMENTThe Department of Mechanical Engineering started its illustrious journey in 1963. It boasts of well qualified, talented and dedicated faculty. There are various R &D projects undertaken by the faculty in the emerging areas. Since the inception of the department, it has been the source of attraction for meritorious UG, PG and PhD students. The departmental labs are equipped with a wide range of machines, tools and equipments to broaden the practical knowledge of students. It also incorporates labs to carry out design and simulation on workstations of latest configuration. The department lays strong emphasis on helping students acquire practical knowledge. It has played a key role in motivating and assisting the students to freely explore the departmental resources and carry out academic, research and extracurricular activities. The vision of the department is "To make contribution in national & global development by creating ethical professionals who are technically competent and are socially responsible towards sustainable development".
