GPA TARGET" Defines an aspirational emissions reduction that we are aiming to achieve across the entire Greater Peterborough Area in the long-term (e.g. 2050). Typically expressed as a percentage reduction below the quantity of emissions released in the baseline year.

planning legislation and tools, and make recommendations to decision-makers on how to best implement an ecosystem-based approach to the development application process.

• Institute a mandatory pre-consultation process for new development applications that starts with a biophysical assessment of sites to guide proposed developments in alignment with the ecological assets of the site.

• Implement sustainability metrics tool to predict, measure and report the sustainability performance of proposed developments focusing on the built environment, mobility, natural environment, and infrastructure and buildings (e.g. Richmond Hill/Vaughan/ Brampton).
