Pipe Fabrication

Pipe fabrication is a critical process where every step

needs to be carried out with immense precision.

The strength and quality of a steel pipe comes from the

fabrication process.

High strength steel pipes can be successfully used in

industries such as power, refineries, chemical, paper

mills, and cement plants.

Choose The Right Tube: Industries use two types of steel pipes – seamless and seamed tubes. Seamless tubes are generally used for light weight while seamed tubes are heavy duty applications.

Select The Raw Materials: Steel comes in various types such as chrome-moly, hastalloy, stainless, and carbon steel.

Manufacturing: Ingots with molten steel are passed through rolling mills to create skelps or billets. Flying shear devices cut the skelps to the required length. Sulfuric acid is used to clean the pipes. After rinsing the billets are sent for pipe fabrication.

Pipe Fabrication: Winding machines with grooved rollers curve the skelp edges to form an unwelded pipe. Welding electrodes are used to seal the pipe ends. Welds are maintained using high pressure rollers.

Final Processing: The final process includes straightening, measuring, and coating. Joints are fitted to the pipes for creating piping networks. Protective coatings are used to galvanize the pipes for corrosion resistance.
