What is steel
Steel is a form of iron that has been smelted at a very high temperature to remove impurities. It is much harder than iron.

• There are over 3,000 different types of steel• Some examples of steel are stainless steel,
Damascus steel, and A514 steel.

Different Steels• Stainless steel can resist rust. That is why it is
used to make kitchen utensils and surgical instruments.

Raw materials of steel
• The raw materials for steel is iron ore, coking coal, freight scrap. They smelt all the ingredients together to make steel!
