A few things, good company, and the Road.
Summer is now behind us and we had a great time traveling and shooting.Highlights have been a trip all the way down south, to Portugal, meeting the cool crew of La Raiz along the way and a week-end accross the channel to visit Untitled Motorcycles and Spirit of the Seventies. We are always looking for a good excuse to hit the road and it did not take us long to decide when we read the pitch from SOS: «On any Spiritual Sunday - BBQ + Prizes + Rideout - Absolutely NO celebrities, guaranteed !»
Great, a genuine motorized garden party in the UK, minutes later our decision was made, tickets for the ferry booked, and we were telling them we would come for the tasty burgers. As usual, this proved to be the best of weekends on the road, we brought back good stories, had our share of breakdowns, met the nicest people ... simple things.
Bikes are made for that, to get you there, they belong on the road, they are not fashion items meant to take dust in a living room, they are not the new hipster flavor of the summer, no matter what, they urge you to travel. This is why we do this, this is why we ride, this is what drives us and this is what we want to share.
In this edition we also want to present the beautiful work of Raf-faele Paolucci (Streetracker) from Italy. Raffaele offers us a very poetic look on motorcycling without compromising the action.

What on earth could beat a BBQ hosted by some of the coolest bike builders around, namely Spi-rit of the Seventies ? They tempted us online announcing tasty burgers in the countryside at their HQ (South East London) and we had a great time meeting with many custom bikes and cafe racers passionate. After the burgers we laid back admiring the work and discus-sing their bikes with Tim & Kevin, the founders who makes great jobs to turn common bikes to unique and desirable bikes!

We arrived at the Untitled’s workshop in Camden, London just in time for Tea and to meet with Anita. This team of three builds custom motorcycles in a rockabilly workshop. They focus on everyday usability with great individual styling as they say and trust us, that’s no bullshit ! If you need Lewis Leathers or cool rockers clothing the shop on the first floor will make your day, make sure to say hi to Hiroko from us.

«The art of sight and rigourous gesture in the present moment.
Denis Meyers has studied graphic design and typography at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Visuals La Cambre in Brussels, where his has shared his passion for printing techniques as an assistant and lecturer.
If his art feels at ease in the streets, Denis Meyers sees himself as a multidisciplinary craftsman. As an historian of ancient gestures. He is always looking for new graphic expe-riences. He rediscoveres ancient techniques and gestures with respect. He uses screen printing, etching, pens and brush. He plays with ancient printing tools.
‘I cut. I glue. I shake. I draw. I print. I snapshoot. I never leave my sketchbook. Everything is there: sight and rigourous gesture in the present moment ‘

I like the racing atmosphere, especially the ca-sual and genuine one, where there is only a little room for snob people. And I like to see racing bikes competing, to see them well rode. The stationary bikes, yes, fine, but they bore me. I’m not passionate of mechanics but riding. I like the riding exercise, driving or not, cars or motorcycles, it makes no difference. And I like racing even more. I don’t pay great attention to the rankings, as I can read them eventually on the newspapers or online.
I like the human component, I enjoy watching professional tuners or simple racing enthusiasts working on their engines, perhaps because what they do remains a mystery to me even after watching them for a lifetime!

But their eyes, hands, the willingness to make, in a hectic weekend in which they loaded their vans, ground miles, slept in the paddock, sworn for their bikes... Sometimes, all for a few laps on the track!
In short, nothing special, after all, but I try to tell something through my photos. I don’t know if I am able, but I think that a little bit can be appreciated.
