Watson Bowman Acme (North America) produces expansion joints and offers solutions in the field of expansion control. For example when bridges require seismically designed joint systems, buildings need expansion joint fire protection or park decks require a watertight expansion joint system.

Wolman (Europe) develops different solutions for wood protection, ranging from material treatment through curative treatment to fire protection.

PCI (Europe) offers a broad portfolio of tiling system products distributed through builders’ merchants to professional craftsmen.

Our innovations have changed a whole industry. Our unique Green Sense Concrete technology enables you to produce high-performance, environmentally friendly and cost-efficient concrete.

Green Sense Concrete is optimized for cost, performance and environmental impact. This leads to many tangible benefits:

Producing cement for the use in concrete consumes large amounts of energy and causes major amounts of greenhouse gas emissions. The Green Sense Concrete technology is a performance package of BASF which optimizes your concrete mix-designs in order to make concrete more environmentally friendly. With this service, we help you to get a better performance of concrete and at the same time improve the carbon footprint during

concrete production and preserve natural resources.The package comprises three components: the optimization of concrete mix by BASF experts, the usage of high-performance admixtures and an eco-efficiency analysis of the concrete life cycle. This analysis can quantify the economic and ecological benefits of these mixtures when compared to a reference or baseline mix.

• Using the MasterGlenium Sky high-level water-reducing admixture, we pumped concrete 691 meters high using only one concrete pump to make the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, Dubai.

• “Marmaray” links the European and Asian continents by means of a 1.4 kilometer tunnel below the Bosporus. The challenges for construction: The tunnel is located in a tectonically active region and is up to 70 meters below the water. This means that the tubes have to withstand the enormous water pressure and ground movements. Our products have made an important contribution to the success of the project.

• With 24 kilometers length, the Second Penang Bridge in Malaysia is Southeast Asia’s longest bridge. With our solutions, we helped the precast concrete elements of 55 meters length to be produced efficiently and with highest quality standards.
