Pickleball®

Experience one of America’s fastest growing sports for older adults. A fun and engaging court-based game that combines the best of tennis and badminton.

Pilates-Mat Based Exercises to enhance strength and flexibility while improving alignment and breathing.

Sculpting A strength and toning workout for all fitness levels, designed to train muscles to achieve their natural definition using weighted props.

Senior Fit Senior Fit is a group program designed to orient NEW seniors to the fitness floor. Class meets one time per week (60 minutes) the first three weeks of the month. Emphasis will be on cardio, weight equipment and engagement with those participat-ing in the class. New members can inquire about class times and register at the service desk. Reg-istration is required.

SilverSneakers® Classic Chair-based class designed to increase strength, range of movement, agility, balance, and coordina-tion and to improve participant’s functional capabilities, physical fitness levels, and sense of well-being.

Women-on-Weights Learn the proper use of strength training equip-ment as well as proper form and methods. This includes both free and cable weight machines. Registration required.

Yoga

Core Yoga - Using deep breathing, Core Yoga emphasizes timed exercises designed to target abdominal and back areas. Strengthening core muscles improves balance, strength, and flexibil-ity.

Gentle Yoga - Slower movements with rests between poses. Majority of routines are performed sitting/lying on Yoga mat.

Hatha Yoga - Basic foundation of Yoga, incorpo-rates posture poses, regulated breathing and relations.

Power Yoga - Strength building to sculpt and tone your muscles, while using breath work through fluid movement. Gain mind/body balance while building strength and confidence.

SilversSneakers® Yoga - Chair based variety of safe and effective options designed to increase flexibility and balance to improve each individu-al’s sense of well-being, while strengthening the body.

Tai-Rauch Yoga - Combination of Yoga, Tai-Chi and Pilates. Benefits are flexibility, balance, toning and core strength. Designed to calm the mind and body while building strength, confidence and joy.

Vinyasa Power Flow - A powerful, energetic form of yoga where students fluidly move from one pose to the next while connecting their breathing to their movements, It incorporates strength, flexibility, balance, cardio and physical and mental stamina.

AOA Reformer Introduction to the Pilates Reformers to our active seniors. Routines are based on their over-all needs of strength to the core area.

Ballroom Dancing (seasonal) Increase your physical fitness through dance. Bring a partner and learn some fast dancing and recoup with a little slow dancing. Registration, fee and partner required.

Pilates Reformer Level 1-3 Learn the basics on the Reformer machine to increase core strength and fitness fundamentals. Progress to higher levels! Form fitting clothes and socks with grips are required.

WELLNESS PROGRAMS YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program Learn how to reduce your risk for developing diabetes, one small step at a time. 12 month program. Registration and fee required. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA® Cancer Survivor A 12-week small group program designed for adult cancer survivors who have become de-conditioned or chronically fatigued from their treatment and/or disease. Offered without cost to the participants. Registration required. ENHANCE®FITNESS for Arthritis EnhanceFitness® is a proven community based arthritis management program. Helps older adults become more active, energized, and empowered for independent living. Registration required. Free for members, fee for non-members.

FREE WATER FITNESS CLASSES AOA Water Fitness Designed to maintain or improve the quality of life, minimize age-related disability and maximize physical activity independence and general well-being.

SilverSneakers® Splash Splash offers LOTS of fun and shallow water moves to improve agility, flexibility, and cardio-vascular endurance.

Water Running (Seasonal) Deep water workout designed to supplement your training or serve as replacement for training on the road.

Lap Swimming available daily.

REGISTER AND PAY CLASSES Arthritis Foundation Water Exercise Exercises have a specific purpose related to the joints and surrounding muscles affected by arthritis. Classes held in Therapy Pool (90 degrees) and meet 2 or 3 days a week.

Arthritis Foundation Water Exercise Plus Exercises included from basic program with higher intensity and resistance variations. Classes are held in the Lap Pool (84 degrees) and meet 3 days per week.

Multiple Sclerosis Water Exercise Exercises have a specific purpose related to the joints and surrounding muscles affected by Multi-ple Sclerosis. *Must register by calling 330-480-5656 Ext 216 - Chris Hughes.
