    StatusCheck and Bearing Tester

  • The StatusCheck condition monitoring system is a unique wireless system designed to detect and report excessive levels of temperature and vibration.

When a bearing, gear or other critical machine element becomes worn, damaged or is lacking lubrication, the component and the machine itself will experience an increase in temperature and vibration. StatusCheck can accurately sense that.

A typical configuration consists of multiple end nodes and at least one controller. Each end node is a self-contained instrument with its own internal power source, electronics and sensors. It attaches directly to the outer frame of a machine and uses wireless RF communications to transmit vibration and temperature readings back to a central controller. The controller can handle up to 99 end nodes. Connected to a PC, it displays real time data, logs information and triggers alarms when thresholds are exceeded. Alarms can generate e-mail messages for maintenance notification.

Additional functionalities are provided when the controller is used as a router to extend transmission distance. The router receives remote sensor data from the end node and automatically repeats these messages to a controller or another router, thus expanding the transmission capabilities.

End users can take timely corrective actions prior to failures based on StatusCheck monitoring helping to prevent machine damage, expensive repairs and prolonged downtime.

    Bearing Tester

The Timken Bearing Tester is a handheld, pocket-sized instrument. Its compact and lightweight design makes it ideal for reliable, yet extremely simple bearing monitoring.

The Bearing Tester is a convenient tool for an instant assessment of the health and lubrication condition of bearings in many industrial environments. It is an economical solution for frontline maintenance personnel or machine operators interested in periodic monitoring of bearings and critical equipment.

This instrument can be a great complement to an existing predictive maintenance program or the starting point of a newly adopted preventative maintenance approach.

The Bearing Tester utilizes the shock pulse method for early detection of possible bearing damage and marginal lube film conditions. An integrated microprocessor analyzes the shock pulse patterns from the bearing and the LED display provides an immediate evaluation on a green-yellow-red condition scale.

The Bearing Tester is also equipped with an infrared sensor to measure surface temperature and a stethoscope function to detect sound irregularities via headphones.

The instrument is powered by two batteries type MN 1500 LR6. Alkaline (AA) or rechargeable batteries can be used in the battery compartment.
