SGS: the facts

• 20 participants

• About half from outside Switzerland

• Theory and practical exercises concerning:

• Grid architecture in general

• Security

• Information services

• Resource management and job submission

• Data management

• Software:

• ARC, gLite, Condor, BOINC, XtremWeb-CH


SGS: the perception

9 out of 20 students responded to a questionnaire

• 88% found the event was useful (12% moder. useful)

• Quality of event: 100% good

• Most of the lectures were perceived good quality

Next steps

• Organise SGS again next year

• Need to make strong publicity for that

• Consider to offer a common Grid computing course/programme for different universities
