Static charges on the film create problems of dust attraction, risk of sparks and problems in rewinding of the film. Solution It is recommended to install Valstat ® VR 20 AC and VR 80 DC static eliminating bars on the recommended locations as shown in the above diagram. Additionally it is recommended to install ATEX certified Ex. proof bars or Valstat ® passive discharge brushes before and after the coating station to ensure a static free web in the process.

Static charges on a coating and laminating line
Problem
On a coating and laminating machine, the flexible film develops static charges as it passes through rollers,
enter and exit dryer. Static charges on the film create problems of dust attraction, risk of sparks and problems
in rewinding of the film.
Solution
It is recommended to install Valstat® VR 20 AC and VR 80 DC static eliminating bars on the recommended
locations as shown in the above diagram.
Additionally it is recommended to install ATEX certified Ex. proof bars or Valstat®
passive discharge brushes
before and after the coating station to ensure a static free web in the process.
