REGISTRATION INFORMATION 1

The Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks & Recre-ation Department does not discriminate against race, gender, religion, or national origin.

FEE WAIVER POLICY

It is the policy of the parks and recreation department that no child be denied access to basic recreation services because of inability to pay. The department will consider fee waiver requests based on a family’s present financial status.

Parents/Guardians must complete the recreation scholarship request forms, provide the required support documentation, and pay the reduced registration fee (if approved) October 28 - Nov 1 from 4 - 5:30 pm at the Honey Bowen Building. No exceptions.

Fee waiver requests will be taken for youth, ages 0 –17 years of age, for all recreation services.

AGE CONTROL DATE POLICY

Effective immediately,there will be

NO EXCEPTIONS to the Age Control Dates

for ANY sport. No child will be

allowed to play out of his or her age category.

OUT OF COUNTY POLICY

All the participants living outside of Bulloch County registering for pro-grams will be required to pay an ad-ditional $10.00 out-of-county fee for each activity, each season or month.

REFUND POLICY

Refunds will not be issued for with-drawal from a program that meets the minimum enrollment requirements set by the department, except in the following cases: Cancellation by the registrant prior to one week before the program starts will result in a full refund. Cancellation by registrant one week or less prior to the program starting date will result in a full refund minus a $3.00 service charge. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVEN AFTER A PROGRAM HAS STARTED.

Pee Wee BasketballThis program helps 4-year-olds get ready for sports by using a step-by-step approach that builds confidence and self-esteem, while making it fun! A parent and/or guardian (over the age of 18) must be present at each session. This program introduces children age 4 for the world of organized sports without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Along with the basic basketball skills, participants will also learn to develop fundamental motor skills. Each week, exercises become increasingly more difficult as the class progresses and the child shows improvement. The class meets at a Bulloch County School Gym (to be determined). 4 WRESTLING • ADULT ATHLETICS

Youth WrestlingThis program will be instructional in nature. The goal of this program is to promote health and physical fitness, good sportsmanship, learning of wres-tling fundamentals, and to provide a fun and worthwhile leisure activity for participants.

The season begins in December and ends in February. The program will meet at the OLD Sallie Zetterower Elementary School building.Ages 5 -15 *age control date is September 1, 2013

“Our Time”After school care until 6 p.m., “Our Time” offers a structured, supervised after school program for students in the Bulloch County School System,

Pre-K through 5th grade.

2013-2014 School Yr. Reg Fee: $50 $40 weekly rate per child $12 daily rate per child

You will automatically be registered for every day school is in session for the

2013-2014 school year. You will only be billed for those days you use care.

The required registration fee per child is non-deductible and non-refundable.

Camp Adventure DaysThe Statesboro Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department offers full day activities (7:15 a.m. - 6 p.m.) for children who are out of school for holidays and in-service days. Held at the former Julia P Bryant School, the upcoming full days include the following dates: November 25-27 (Thanksgiving) Deadline to sign up: Nov 11January 2-3 (New Years Break) Deadline to sign up: Dec 16February 17-21 ( Winter Break) Deadline to sign up: Feb 3April 14-17 (Spring Break) Deadline to sign up: March 31

Fees: $25 per day or $110 for a full week*no care in December* No registrations will be taken after Noon on the Friday prior to the week you need care at Camp Adventure Days.

SpecialistsSBCPRD strives to provide qual-ity individualized care for children with disabilities based on the spe-cific needs of the child. The “Spe-cialists” program is an inclusive pro-gram, which meets in conjunction with the “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S. programs. The “Specialists” program provides recreational and enrich-ment activities which allow chil-dren with disabilities to participate as they can, making adaptations and modifications to accommodate special needs. Fees for this program are the same as “Our Time” and R.E.C.E.S.

Stirrup Some Fun Birthday Bash Are you struggling to find a new and exciting idea for your child’s next birthday party? Well, round up all your cowboys and cowgirls and bring them out to Fletcher Park for a Rootin-Tootin good time! The below birthday bash packages are available Saturdays and Sundays during the hours of 10 am - 6 pm.

coordination and more! Classes are held at Fletcher Memorial Park on Lakeview Road in 4-week sessions.

Stirrup Some Fun VolunteersThis program relies on volunteers to be successful and to help the children benefit the most they can from horseback riding. Tumbling Class Learn basic tumbling skills along with the proper techniques such as: flexibility, conditioning and strength training. These are cheerleading-based classes for ages 3 to 12. Horseback Riding LessonsInterested in horseback riding? Whether you want to ride English or Western saddle, get started with the basics of good riding skills. You can gain so much from riding lessons, such as: patience, compassion, responsibility, sportsmanship, and pure enjoyment with the outdoors. Call 489-9059 to learn more.Lessons are for beginner to

intermediate levels. Rider must be 5 to 18 years old (age control date for horseback riding lessons is September 1, 2013). Helmets and tack will be provided. Make sure to wear something comfortable, preferably jeans or pants and closed-toed shoes (boots or tennis shoes). Rider will be assigned one day a week with a 45-minute time slot during the entire session.

Held at Fletcher Park on Lakeview Road. Session 1: November 18 - December 20 (4 week program - No lessons during the week of Nov 25-29 due to holiday)Session 2: January 13 - February 21 (six week program)

Lifeguard Training Description: Get your Lifeguard, First Aid & CPR/AED Certification. Students must be 15 years of age or older, be able to complete a 100 yard swim with head up looking forward, retrieve a submerged 10lb object from the pool floor, and tread water for one minute without using your hands. Participants must attend every class session.Lifeguard Recertification Description: for previous lifeguards who received Starguard certification last year and need to recert. Must hold current or recently expired Star-Guard Lifeguard Certification. Students must bring their own book. New CAP folders will be issued.Swimming Instructor Description: for anyone interested in teaching Swim Lessons using the Starfish Aquatics Swim Lesson program.

TRAVEL - Woodrow Wilson Boyhood Home, Augusta GA Jan 24The Boyhood Home of President Woodrow Wilson offers a glimpse into the lives of a Southern family with Northern roots in that tumultuous decade, the 1860s. Hear stories of the South’s secession, preparations for war, sectional divi-sion of a Protestant denomination, shortages of food and money, and sacrifices made to support a lost cause. Lunch will be at Hildebrandts which is located in an old 1879 grocery store. Trip is approximately one hour and 45 minutes. Cost: $12, plus lunch Deadline: Jan 10, 2014 Depart/Return: 9 am - 4
