    1.0 INTRODUCTION AND EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We are pleased to introduce our firm, KHATRI International, Inc., to your

organization. Khatri Int. Inc. is a civil and structural engineering company based

in Pasadena, California. Our project experience covers general building design,

structural engineering, seismic design, structural tower design, civil engineering

and infrastructure work including pipeline, reservoir design, flood control facilities,

storm drain, water pump stations, and construction management aspects.

Over the past ten years we have developed a specialization in wind tower design

and analysis with a particular emphasis on the design of wind tower foundations.

We are well versed in all types of wind tower foundations, from spread footings to

designs utilizing rock anchors. Our unique experience gives us the ability to

value engineer the most cost effective foundation solution for an individual site,

and then implement that solution through final design and construction.

We have worked on over 2000 MW of wind tower projects in the US and Canada

and signed as Engineer of Record for the towers and foundation systems. We

maintain PE licenses in 32 states, and Canadian Provinces.

    SELECT PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Marriott Hotel and Time Share, Park City, Utah

Slope stability issues resulted in using rock bolts to anchor the highly fractured and clay filled adversely dipping limestone to competent rock. This entailed evaluating the rock bolt spacing, length and angle of drilling. Mr. Schrenk provided quality control services during rock bolt installation and evaluation of the extent of installation.

    Leisure World, Vista/Oceanside, California

Geologic and geotechnical field studies involving rock rippability studies to evaluate the rock hardness, provided geologic qualitative analysis on slope stability, alluvium removals, sub-drain design information, grading plan review, and review project quality control during grading. City of Lake Elsinore, California

Principal geologist in the preparation of a comprehensive geologic hazard study text and map for the City of Lake Elsinore. Included in the study was the identification of potential areas of liquefaction, rock fall hazards, debris flow, fault hazard issues and areas of high groundwater. University of California at Irvine

    3.0 EXPERIENCE AND PROJECTS

Figure 1: Khatri International Inc. a has designed numerous wind tower foundations for projects across the country. Our designs utilize various foundation systems, including spread footings, and foundation anchor systems. The foundation shown here is a spread footing for a 500 kW Vestas turbine installed at a manufacturing plant in Illinois in October of 2009. A rock anchor type foundation was considered for this project, but the spread footing was determined to be the most economical solution.
