KEY PROJECT DELIVERABLES INCLUDED:
THE RESULTS:
A thoughtful, intuitive product suite designed to support customer acquisition and retention, both in the
U.S. and abroad.
A forward-thinking design approach that anticipated the coming use of touchscreen devices, preventing
the need for costly reworks down the road.
THE CHALLENGE:
Philips Healthcare wanted to update its existing critical care and anesthesia application suite. The existing
version of the ICU monitoring technology was outdated and had a cluttered interface, limiting the company’s
ability to sell against the competition.
THE SOLUTION:
PointClear Solutions developed usability recommendations, as well as several visual design enhancements
throughout the application suite, focusing on key areas, such as the census and flow sheet. The interface was
dramatically simplified by restructuring the flow of information, making it easier to navigate and providing
intuitive contextual controls.
Because Philips was marketing this product in Europe as well as in the United States, PointClear’s UI / UX
design team had to be cognizant of how the new design could be translated smoothly into multiple
languages.
