Star  Wars  ORIGAMI  X-­‐WING  

Description:  This  is  an  adaptation  of  a  traditional  paper  airplane  making  activity.    Student(s)  will  design,  and  fold  an  airplane  in  the  style  of  an  X-­‐Wing  Fighter.      

Difficulty  Level:  Padawan  

Materials  Needed  (Per  Group):  

• Several  Sheets  of  Paper/Group  •  to  encourage  creativity  and  testing  

• Picture  of  an  X-­‐Wing  Fighter  for  Reference  •  can  be  projected  or  printed  

Student  Directions  

The  Resistance  needs  you.    Recent  battles  with  the  

First  Order  have  devastated  our  X-­‐Wing  fleet,  and  we  

need  more  starfighters  now!    Your  job  is  to  design  

and  build  an  X-­‐Wing  Starfighter.    You  can  improve  

the  traditional  design  in  any  way  you  see  fit,  but  your  

craft  must  retain  the  classic  X-­‐Wing  Shape.  

 

Regulations  

• Your  craft  must  “fly”  at  least  ten  feet.  

• You  may  not  cut  or  glue  anything.  

• You  will  have  15  minutes  to  complete  your  task.
