STARTUP WEEK 2011- The European startup festival The STARTUP WEEK 2011 epitomizes the visions and goals of STARTeurope. For a little longer than two years the young team of Andreas Tschas and Jürgen Furian is trying to exploit the vantage geographical location of Vienna also for the entrepre-neurship. As part of the startup conference a common strategic direction for the CEE entrepreneurship should be stabled, so as on the one hand to encourage the CEE entrepreneurship and on the other hand to bundle the existing fragmented market. To give this project an origin it is set deliberately to young entrepreneurs. Because startups from East and West are the ones who can transpose these visions and unite the market through the creation of joint venture. For this occasion the STARTUP WEEK 2011 brings together entrepreneurs, executives, investors, bloggers and journalists to discuss key issues and opportunities of entrepreneurship.

This renders Vienna to an ideal breeding ground for the startup scene and is helping startups from Eastern Europe to their success. By designing an entire festival, inclu-ding one main event and 12 side events, with topics like music, deign, e-health or social entrepreneurship, attention for the issue startup should be generated. Also the popularity of the 70 international speakers, who are the stars of the internet- and mobile- industry, leverages this intention.

Key facts • 50 startups from across Europe present their mobile- and internet -business-idea

• 70 star-speakers will hold panel-discussions and will talk about their ups and downs of the business sector

• 12 side events confer the event festival feeling

• 5000 participants from 35 nations are expected

• 100% media coverage is guaranteed

The idea behind it „The aim of the STARTUP WEEK is to create an international platform for startups and young entrepreneurs from Europe“ said Jürgen Furian and Andreas Tschas, founder of STARTeurope and chief organizer of the STARTUP WEEK. „Europe needs new economic impulses, those impulses we create with solid and innovative star-tups,“ added Andreas Tschas. Some entrepreneurs will leave the STARTUP WEEK with successful financing. All others will have learned a lot from each other can expand their network and have enjoyed a week full of entrepreneurial energy”, reckon Markus Wagner and Oliver Holle, the initiators of Initial Factor. “A particular concern to us is to simplify the networking with international investors and media-contacts, for the participants of the STARTUP WEEK. Consider to this we have come up with very promising-ideas”, said Jürgen Furian.
