• There is a procedure for everything you just need to know what it is.

• You can find procedures in your notes that I give you.

• You can find them on the walls.

• You can find them in the “While you are out” binder.

• Other people can remind you.

Entering the room

• Each day you will have a starter assignment.• It will be due every day.

• The front board will indicate what you are to be doing for the day.• Always read the board and follow the instructions as soon as you

enter the classroom.

• You will pick an assigned seat for the semester and I expect you to sit there every day unless otherwise changed by the teacher.• Electronic devises are prohibited during this time, unless otherwise

indicated by the teacher.

Transition

• Transitions need to run quickly and smoothly for your benefit.

• Mrs. Francesconi will raise her hand and say “I need your attention please” • I expect everyone to raise their hands, close their mouths, put away

any electronic devises, and track (follow with your eyes) Mrs. Francesconi, until everyone is paying attention and silent.

Presentations

• While anyone is presenting to the class.• Students remain in their assigned seats, unless otherwise indicated

by the teacher• Students track whoever is presenting.• All electronic devises are put away.• When asked students will respond and participate to the

presentation.

• These actions will be rewarded with participation points for the day, among other rewards.

Getting supplies

• Only supplies indicated for the project are to be used.• If you have not been instructed to use a tool or supply please refrain from

using it.

• For some projects the supplies will be in the center of your table.• For others Mrs. Francesconi will assign individuals to retrieve the

supplies.• For others you may have to retrieve them yourself. • All supplies used must be cleaned to their original beauty and

put back where they belong. • This is part of you grade so make sure you are cleaning up.

Individual work time

• This is the only time you may ask to go to the restroom.

• This is when you may sharpen your pencil.

• During individual work time students may listen to music only.

• Anyone suspected of misuse of electronics will loose participation points and have to sign the No electronics use policy contract.

• You will be given a time frame to complete a certain amount for each day.• If you are not done when the time is up still turn it in for partial credit.• If you are done before everyone else, work on past assignments that were

not finished or extra credit. Rule #1 is you must always be working.

Cleaning up

• Everyone must contribute to cleaning the room.

• The table that is first to have portfolios put away, everything cleaned, and all students seated will get to leave first.

• If the room is not clean when the bell rings than students will remain in the class until it is clean.

• Any students who refuse and leave anyways will be referred to an administrator for further discipline.

If you are absent

• If you are ever absent (which I do not recommend)• You need to check the while you were out binder for what you

missed.• Collect any papers you missed from the front board• Complete all missed work within 5 days of your excused absents.• Turn in all missing work with a late slip so you may still receive full

points.

Daily Starters

• Every day you will look on the front board for your daily starter.

• Sit in your assigned seat and begin as soon as you enter the classroom.

• Students caught on task (scot) will be rewarded.

• Students caught not being on task will lose points for the day.

Classroom tour Scavenger hunt

• Once back in your seats you will sit quietly until Mrs. Francesconi calls everyone back to move on. • This is not a time to be on your cell phones. Anyone caught on their
