Objective - Students will be able to write and graph linear equations in slope-intercept form and standard form.
Essential Questions:If you have 3 points, how can you use the slope formula to determine whether the point are collinear?Does the format of the equation identify its form?Do you think it is easier to identify parallel and perpendicular lines when the equations of the lines in standard form or in slope – intercept form?

Ax + By = C When asked to find the equation of a line, just choose the right form and you’ll do fine!
If two points are all that you see, then the slope formula is the key!
To find the slope of a perpendicular line, just turn it upside down and change the sign.
There is really not much left to tell, the slopes are equal if the lines are parallel.
Now, if “m” and “b” are what you know, then the slope intercept form is the way to go!
If “m” and a point are what you possess, then the point-slope form is your best guess. And, remember one thing before you are done, STANDARD FORM is much more fun!
So clear out any fractions that you’ve got, and put everything into its proper spot.
