Beloved AIPS P6 studentsMy heartiest congratulations to you! You have completed your primary school education.

Are you excited at the thought of graduating? A little scared of going to Secondary school, sad about saying goodbye to friends and teachers? I also felt the same way when I was 12 years old. You have come a long way and we are immeasurably proud of each and every one of you.

Having been there, I can tell you that you will be starting on yet another wonderful journey in your secondary schools in 2015.

I have had the pleasure of speaking and sharing with you several times this year and one of the common threads have always been, ‘You must be happy’. Indeed, happiness is not always easy to find. Some experts say that while some small part of our happiness quotient is genetic and may be inherited, we can influence it considerably by our actions, by our choices.

You can choose how happy you will be. Happiness is a discipline, a discipline of mind, which you can choose to practice within the three dimensions of time:

1) The way we remember the past When we look back and consider our past, we can choose to decide that the past does not rigidly determine our future, that a past trauma does not

limit our future success. We can choose to focus upon our good experiences and express gratitude for them.

2) The way we experience the present We can identify two forms of happiness while living in the present. Pleasures may provide us with momentary delights and we should not over-indulge,

gratifications are experiences of psychological growth that are more significant to our long term growth

3) The way we look to the future By deciding to view the future with optimism, we can make ourselves happier and more successful

So dear AIPS students: Look back with warmth and gratitude, look forward with optimism and passion

Dear AIPS,

Thank you for the fondest memories. We

have had great six years learning and

developing to be useful citizens and youths of

character. We would like to thank all our

teachers who have taught us for all the

six years, our Principal and staff. We will never forget the confidence you

have in us.

We learn how to solve problems. Instead of fighting and using unpleasant remarks to hurt others, we choose to be tolerant and educate others the importance of respect.
