TEASERFADE IN:

EXT. DESTINY - CROSSING THROUGH INTERGALACTIC SPACE

Destiny is hanging in space, with nothing but blackness behind

her. She is between galaxies, and its a lonely place. We panaround behind her to see whats ahead, and are treated to a viewof a river of stars in front of her. Shes approaching a new gal-axy, and it is dead ahead. She jumps to FTL.

INT. DESTINY - STASIS PODS

We track through the corridors of suspension pods, seeing thefaces of our cast frozen in the positions they were left in atthe end of season 2. We come to rest on CHLOEs pod. Still andlifeless she stares into infinity.

We hear a BEEP and a whoosh as the routines for waking her kickin. We PULL BACK to see a KINO floating in the air in front ofher pod.

INT. DESTINY - CHLOES POD

We see her awaken, confused, but just momentarily. Once sheglimpses the keno, it floats off down the corridor. Bewildered,she follows it. We HOLD for a moment to see that shes the onlyone who has awoken.

INT. DESTINY - CORRIDOR

As the Kino deliberately floats down it, Chloe following. ItsVERY DARK as most of the power is still off.

INT. STONES ROOM

As the Kino enters and floats above the ancient stones device.One stone is sitting invitingly on the console. The Kino turnsits lens back towards Chloe as she enters. Its clearly invitingher to use the stone.

She looks at the Kino, and it hovers in front of her unblinking-ly.

CHLOEEli? Eli? Are you around here?

She waits a beat and then looks down at the stone. With trepida-tion she sits and gingerly touches it.

FX. A DISORIENTING FLASH AS CHLOE CONNECTS WITH THE STONE

INT. CONFERENCE ROOM ON THE USS GEORGE HAMMOND (AN SGC 304-CLASS SPACECRAFT)

Chloe occupies the body of a female marine. She wakes to see an-other marine.

MARINEIs that you Chloe?

Shes confused. Not just disorientation from the stone, but howdid the marine know it was going to be Chloe?

CHLOEYes-

Before she can say any more, the marine opens the intercom.

MARINEGeneral. Shes here.

Cut To:

INT. DESTINY STONES ROOM

As the marine wakes up in Chloes body. She shivers and hugs her-self against the cold. The Kino is watching her closely.

INT. CONFERENCE ROOM

As Chloe is looking around, confused. The Marine doesnt speak.She stands, and walks towards the exit, but he shifts his weighta little to block her way. Shes not a prisoner, but hes notletting her go anywhere.

The door opens and GENERAL JACK ONEILL walks in, looking at hiswatch.

JACKThats pretty accurate. Another egg-head. Oh well.

CHLOEGeneral ONeill? Whats going on?

JACKYoure Chloe Armstrong?

He looks at her a little, furrowing his eyebrows before shrug-ging.

JACKIll never get used to this, you know.Stones thing.

CHLOEGeneral?

JACKYes? Oh yes. I suppose you want to knowwhats going on. Youve just woken upfrom your three year sleep. Welcome tothe future.

CHLOEWhy was I called here?

JACKI was hoping you were going to tell methat. I was hoping that you and theother eggheads on Destiny had an answerby now.

CHLOEAn answer? For what?

Jacks demeanor changes to a more serious one.

JACKYou dont know? Then we really arescrewed.

He gestures for her to follow him as he leaves the room.

INT. CORRIDOR OF THE GEORGE HAMMOND

As ONeill enters, walking towards the camera, Chloe following.

JACKA lot has changed in the three yearsyouve been away from us.

INT. BRIDGE OF THE GEORGE HAMMOND

As they enter. In the view screen ahead of them they can see theEarth. The eastern seaboard comes into view, and we can see thatits in flames.

JACK (TOWARDS A BRIDGE TECH)Show her.

The view screen changes to show scenes of destruction. We seecities like WASHINGTON D.C. laid waste, with smoke pouring out ofthe Capitol building. London is burning and the Eiffel tower inParis is a barely recognizable piece of molten slag. In a smallhomage to Planet of the Apes we see the head of the Statue ofLiberty on the Jersey shore, waves lapping up against it as NewYork City burns in the background.

FADE OUT AND:

CUT TO CREDITS.

ACT 1.FADE IN:

INT. DESTINY STONES ROOM

As Chloe jumps in shock. Shes back. The stones device has deac-tivated suddenly. The Kino is gone. The looks around, alone,shuddering at the vision she just saw.

RUSH enters.

RUSHChloe?

He takes out his walkie-talkie.

RUSH (INTO WALKIE TALKIE)Colonel Young. I found her.

YOUNG (THROUGH WALKIE TALKIE)Acknowledged. Any sign of Eli.

RUSHNone. But its been three years hecould be-

YOUNG (INTERRUPTING)Keep looking. Young out.

Rush walks over to Chloe and tenderly puts his hand on her arm.Hes only just noticed that she looks a little shaken.

RUSHChloe. Are you ok?

Doe-like eyes look up to him.

CHLOEYes. I think so.

RUSHWere you trying to get the stones work-ing? The device is powered down. One ofthe systems we need to get working

again.

She looks down to the device again. Its dark and lifeless. Sheis slightly shocked as we

Young is sitting in the command seat. Volker and Brody at thecontrol consoles.

VOLKERThats odd.

YOUNGWhat is it?

VOLKERWeve dropped out of FTL in a star sys-tem that isnt quite in the new galaxy.

YOUNGWhat does that mean?

VOLKERTypically, in a galaxy, stars arepacked pretty tight in the core, abouta 1/4 of a light year apart. When youget to the outer edges, theyre spreadout more, like 10-15 light years apart.

BRODYLike Earths sun is 4 light years fromits nearest neighbor.

YOUNGRight. So what?

VOLKERThis system is several hundred lightyears from the nearest star. Its likea rogue solar system, just outside whatyoud typically consider to be the gal-axy.

BRODYAnd Destiny overrode Elis program. Wewere supposed to go into the Galaxy andfind the closest suitable star for re-fuelling.

YOUNGIs this star suitable?

VOLKERYes. Its perfect.

YOUNGSo maybe Destiny stopped here becauseits closer?

No, thats not it. This star is a lotfurther than others Destiny could havestopped at.

FX: He shows a display. On it are drawn the two galaxies, side byside, projected above, so they look like circles.

VOLKERAs we left the last galaxy, we left atthis point, following the shortest tra-jectory.

FX: A line is drawn leaving the leftmost galaxy at the threeoclock position.

VOLKER (V.O.)We should have entered this Galaxyhere, and quite quickly found a suita-

ble star.

FX: The line intersects the rightmost galaxy at nine oclock

YOUNGSo where are we?

VOLKERThats the thing. We ended up here.

FX: He re-draws the line, but now it intersects the right handgalaxy at approximately 11 oclock.

YOUNGWere way off course.

RUSHOr back on course, depending on how youlook at it.

(A beat)

Brody, scan the system, tell me if yousee what I see.

Brody turns to the controls and starts working. After a moment.

BRODYWow.

YOUNGWhat is it?

BRODYThis cant be right.

BRODYSorry, Colonel. Theres the star, and

just one planet, approximately 1 AUfrom the star. Its perfectly suitablefor human life.

YOUNGJust one planet?

RUSHAnd its perfect. Sounds artificial tome.

FADE TO:

INT: CHLOES QUARTERS. Shes trying to sleep but cant. The doorchimes.

CHLOECome in!

Nothing happens.

CHLOE (LOUDER)Come in!

Again, nothing happens. Frustrated, she gets up from the bed and

heads to the door. She pushes the chime to open the door and-

TJStill no sign of Eli. No messages.Nothing.

YOUNGTJ. You should see this. Its anotherartificial system like the one-

TJWhere Caine is? Where my daughter is?

YOUNGWe dont know that for sure. But wellbe in Shuttle range in a few minutes.

TJI want to be on it.

YOUNGOf course. Ill need you to gather med-ical supplies.

BRODYScanning the surface. Theres no Star-gate. Just like the other one.

RUSHIs there an Obelisk?

BRODYDont know yet. Checking for its EMsignature.

TJAny people down there?

BRODYCant tell.

YOUNG (TO INTERCOM)Scott. Put together a team and meet atthe shuttle. Were going down to thesurface. Greer will keep up the searchfor Eli on board.

SCOTT (OVER INTERCOM)

Yes sir.

FX: As Destiny approaches the planet. We see its a beautifulgreen and blue world.

INT: DESTINY - OUTSIDE SHUTTLE

Scott is there with Lt James and some other marines, some civil-ians including Dr. Boone and Dr. Leung

TJ arrives.

SCOTT

Ok, lets go.

(Aside to TJ)

You doing ok?

She looks at him, and smiles a little.

Better than Ive been for a long time.I think its fate that weve discoveredthis world at this time.

SCOTT

It cant be the same world. Its a dif-ferent galaxy, and if they could makeone, well...Im sure they could makemore.

TJI know. But it means they are outthere. And it means they are lookingout for us.

SCOTTYou still think your daughter is withthem.

TJI KNOW she is. And I know that Ill seeher someday.

She smiles warmly and enters the shuttle. He returns the smileand follows her in.

CUT TO:

EXT: FX as the Shuttle launches from DESTINY

CUT TO:

INT: DESTINY CORRIDOR

As the Kino floats across the Frame, Chloe in tow. It stops at adoor. She pushes the chime beside the door, and it swings open.

We see ELIS ROOM on the other side.

INT: ELIS ROOM

As the Kino floats in and Chloe follows. To her left is the Kinocontrol station. At the back is the Kino dispenser. Elis bed is

left, unmade, with papers and food packages strewn on the floor.She smiles a little in memory of him.

A BUTTON on the Kino Control station glows and begins to blink.She pushes it.

FX: As lights project onto Chloes face. We can see that itsmathematical equations. They start slowly at first, but get fast-er and faster. Her eyes dilate, and then, trancelike, she beginsto absorb them.

EXT FX: As the shuttle hits the atmosphere.

INT: SHUTTLE - SCOTT Is at the controls, flying it. Through thewindows theres nothing to see, but the shuttle is being buffetedby turbulence.

TJ Walks up beside him to look out the viewport.

SCOTTLast time we chose a spot in the tem-perate zone, close to a large body offresh water, and away from any areasyoud expect to have severe weather.

TJIt was beautiful too.

SCOTT (SMILING)

Hopefully well be lucky this time.

TJI dont think luck has anything to dowith it. Remember last time we landedwithin a few miles of the obelisk, eventhough we hadnt seen it from orbit.

SCOTTYeah. Scanning for the EM signature,but I dont see anything. Maybe oncewere out of the ionosphere.

As if to answer, the buffeting stops, and the clouds begin toclear.

CLOSE UP on Scott and TJs face to see their stunned reaction aswe CUT TO:

FX: The shuttle emerges from the clouds and flies over a deepvalley, containing an obelisk. (Just like the one from 1x13Faith)

CUT TO:

INT: DESTINY BRIDGE

SCOTT (V.O.)Scott to Colonel Young.

YOUNGThis is Young. Report.

SCOTTTheres no doubt sir, its another ar-tificial planet. We emerged from the

upper atmosphere right at one of theobelisks.

RUSHIs there any activity at the obelisk.

SCOTTNegative. But theres a clearing abouta half a click from its base. Were go-ing to land there and check it out.

YOUNGAcknowledged. See what you can find.Destiny out.

Rush is rubbing his chin, deep in thought.

YOUNGSomething to say?

RUSHAye. Its the second time weve comeacross a planet like this, and the lasttime was when we were in dire need.

YOUNGYour point? Weve escaped the drones,and left them behind in the other gal-axy. We could go to any star from here.

RUSHWe could. But maybe thats the problem.What if they are waiting in this Gal-axy, or what if something WORSE iswaiting here?

YOUNGSo they gave us a supply stop so thatwe can have a fighting chance.

RUSHMaybe. But we should keep our eyes andears open.

YOUNGDont we always?

(a beat)

Shouldnt you be working on the stones?We need to get in touch with Earth tosee whats been happening over the lastthree years.

BRODYYeah. I want to know whats going on inthe stock market. My portfolios hadbeen taking a beating.

VOLKERYoure worried about your portfolio?

BRODYYeah. I think I bought too much of onestock when I was last home via thestones.

VOLKEROh yeah? Which one?

BRODY (SHEEPISHLY)Apple.

VOLKEROh.

CUT TO:

INT DESTINY: ELIS QUARTERS. We see Chloe in the same position asearlier. Time has passed but she hasnt moved. She looks like shehasnt even blinked.

The STREAM OF DATA suddenly stops. She pauses a moment. Blinks.

Memory of where she is suddenly comes over her. She turns andwalks through the door, with purpose.

INT DESTINY CORRIDOR

As Chloe walks purposefully down it. She turns a corner and GREERis there.

GREERAh Chloe. Good to see you. Can you helpus in the search for-

But she blows past like she hasnt seen him.

EXT: PLANET SURFACE

The rear of the shuttle opens and SCOTT and JAMES walk down theramp onto the lush grass of a new world.

JAMESDo you smell that?

SCOTT (SNIFFING)

What? I cant smell anything.

JAMESFresh air. Fresh, pure air. For once Idont smell Sargent Greer.

SCOTTPut a lid on that soldier. Weve a jobto do.

JAMES (A LITTLE TAKEN ABACK)Yes, sir!

INT: DESTINY - STONES ROOM

RUSH is here, working on the stones device. Hes getting frus-trated. Its supposed to turn on, but it wont. Hes lifting it,turning it, but nothing happens.

GREER (V.O. ON WALKIE TALKIE)Doctor Rush?

RUSHSergeant, Im very busy, and dont wantto be disturbed.

GREERI think youll want to be disturbed bythis.

RUSH (IMPATIENTLY)What is it?

GREERIts Chloe. Shes doing that thing withthe blackboard again.

Rush puts down the stones device and hustles from the room.

INT: DESTINY - BLACKBOARD CORRIDOR

As Chloe is working on equations on the walls. Shes moving fast,writing, scribbling, drawing. Shes erasing some of Rushs work.

Greer is there too, watching her protectively.

He enters to see her, and gets momentarily angry. Then he looksat what shes doing.

RUSH (QUIETLY)Oh my god.

And we FADE OUT:

ACT TWO:

FADE IN:

EXT - PLANET - DAY

The away team is hiking away from the shuttle in the direction ofthe tower. Theyre in lush, thick, jungle that makes it hard tosee clearly where theyre going.

Scotts holding a scanner.

SCOTTLooks like its that way.

(A Beat)

Sort of.

They start hacking their way through the undergrowth, two marinesin front with makeshift machetes, Lieutenant James behind. Thecivilians follow them, with Scott and TJ taking up the rear.

TJWait a second.

Scott raises his hand in the hold up signal, and the partystops. TJ investigates a plant near them. It has green leaves anda purple flower. The leaves have spines on them.

SCOTTLooks like a thistle.

TJ puts on a glove and breaks a stem. She lifts it and smells it.

TJSmells a little like a thistle too.

SCOTTOk. So?

TJ

In the middle ages thistle was used ina lot of cures as a natural antibiotic.It was even called blessed thistlebecause people believed it would curethe plague.

SCOTTBelieved.

TJ

Yes. Believed. Just because they didnthave proof, doesnt mean they werentright.

SCOTT

We need to keep moving. Itll be darksoon.

TJOk, go ahead. Im going to gather someup and Ill follow your path.

Scott nods and the party moves out. As they leave, he looks backonce more, almost protectively, towards TJ. She sees him andnods. He looks down again to see the pistol on her hip and hemoves on.

SCOTT (TO HIMSELF)We need to choose what we believe in.

EXT: FOREST CLEARING - DAY

TJ is by herself at the clearing. She is putting on gloves andcollecting some of the thistle-like plants. Shes methodical,picking them up one by one, stripping off dirt and packing themin sample bags.

GIRLS VOICE (VOICE OVER)Thank you.

She stops. Jumps in her skin. She starts to look around, and putsher hand on her holster.

GIRLS VOICE (VOICE OVER)You sacrificed for me.

(A beat)

Thank you.

TJ Draws her gun, and holds it outwards and downwards in theclassic ready pose. She clicks off the safety. Her eyes are dart-ing around the clearing.

We wait a beat and then--

GIRLS VOICE (VOICE OVER)Mother

CUT TO:

EXT - SPACE - DESTINY

As she orbits the planet below.

INT - BLACKBOARD CORRIDOR - DESTINY

Chloe is still working frantically. Rush is trying to keep up,correlating the notes on his notepad with what shes writing.

RUSHIts a pattern. Repeated. Pairs, Cou-ples. What is it?

She doesnt answer, but keeps working. He sees her scribblingvalues. One of them he recognizes.

He starts to scribble out an equation based on her work, and thework in his notes. He gets to the = at the end and writes theanswer. Pi.

RUSHPi. Pi?

Young enters. He looks at Rushs work.

YOUNGPi. Thats one that even I know. Butwhat does it mean?

Rush looks at him, back at the equation, and then at Chloe andhis notes.

RUSH

I dont know. But. Im close. I know Iam.

Young looks back to him, and then at Chloe.

YOUNGDont you mean she is?

Rush is a little taken aback.

RUSHThis is not an ego thing. Chloe is

providing me with the key. I have toturn it and open the door.

YOUNGWhat door?

RUSHThe answer. The background radiation.The pattern. It means something.

Chloe stops writing. Turns to Young and Rush.

CHLOEThats what they gave me.

YOUNGThey? Who?

CHLOE (CONFUSED)What?

She looks around a moment, and then looks back to Young and Rush.

CHLOE (CTD)How did I get here? I thought I wasdone with that.

RUSH

This was different. Colonel, can youtake Chloe to the infirmary. I need towork on this.

(A beat)

Did your people find Eli by any chance?I could really do with his insighthere.

YOUNG

Not yet. But, Ill be sure to tell himyou said that when I find him.

A long glance passes between the two men. They both almost smile,almost. Young escorts Chloe out as we-

EXT - PLANETS SURFACE - DAY

TJ is jogging to catch up with the rest of the group. Theyre ona small rise leading upwards.

JAMESLooks like this is the top of the foun-dation. I think were in the rightplace.

SCOTTIts a big tower. Looks like we wontget there and back to the shuttle be-fore nightfall.

He sees TJ enter. Her eyes are a little wide.

SCOTT (CTD)TJ? Everything ok?

She looks at him, catches her breath. And lies.

TJYeah. Just need more exercise.

(A beat)

Dont worry, its not the ALS.

She smiles and he nods.

A Marine calls out from up ahead.

MARINE 1Theres something up here.

We see them cut through the undergrowth to reveal a dark greywall. Its part of the base of the tower. Another marine callsfrom further ahead.

MARINE 2Over this side. Theres a clearing.

We follow their voice, and emerge from the thick growth to see asmall clearing, formed by a stone overhang from the tower. Withall the overgrowth its pretty dark, and Scott snaps a flashlight

to the tip of his rifle. The others follow suit and peer into thedarkness.

Theres a tunnel, clearly heading towards the interior of thetower.

SCOTTIll take the good doctors and check itout. James, keep Leung and Loney here

with the civilians. Stay sharp. Itstoo quiet.

TJ (WITH REALIZATION)No animal sounds here.

SCOTTYeah. Well take a look in and radioback.

JAMESGot it.

(A beat)

And sir?

SCOTTWhat is it?

JAMESBe careful.

Scott looks into the darkness. He smiles a little.

SCOTTRoger that.

INT: TOWER VESTIBULE - NIGHT

We see Scott and TJ enter, flashlights darting around to illumi-nate the darkness.

TJI dont even know what this materialis. It looks like stone, but...

SCOTTKinda reminds me of the Destiny Star-gate.

TJYoure right, but, why would they build

a tower out of it?

SCOTTHopefully thats what well find out.

They turn a corner to find the way blocked. As TJ touches herhand to the dead end, out of nowhere a display lights up. It hassymbols and shapes on it most of which are clearly alien, butsome are familiar, like basic circles and globes. They are afriendly luminous green.

SCOTTSome kind of terminal?

TJMaybe.

She gestures over the shapes and they follow her fingers. Sherandomly arranges some of them, but their colors change, mostlyto red, and the pattern resets.

TJInteresting.

SCOTTIll leave this to the Volker andBoone.

He takes out his walkie-talkie to signal them. But its just

static.

SCOTTToo much interference in here. Im go-ing to head back and communicate withthem the old-fashioned way.

TJ is preoccupied with the console, trying different combinationsof shapes. They keep turning red and resetting. She doesnt an-swer him.

SCOTTYou know. Shouting.

TJOk. Ill wait here and keep working.Theres no other way in or out, so Illbe fine.

SCOTTOk. Ill be right back.

He ventures into the darkness back towards the direction theycame from.

FX: DESTINY IN ORBIT

We ZOOM in on the living quarters of the ship.

INT - STONES ROOM

Camille Wray is working on the stones device. Shes frustrated,and cant figure out why it doesnt work. Chloe enters.

WRAYIf youre looking to dial home, youreout of luck. We cant get them to work.

CHLOERush thinks that once all the ship sys-tems are online itll work.

1WRAYThis should be the priority.

CHLOEFinding Eli should be the priority, butI didnt come here to talk about that.I came because I need your help.

Wray drops what shes doing and looks up. She suddenly sees theanxiety in Chloes face. Compassion pours over her.

WRAY

What is it?

CHLOEI think Im losing my mind.

CUT TO:

INT - DESTINY - CORRIDOR - DARK

Sergeant Greer, Doctor Park and another soldier are making theirway slowly, down the dark corridor. We join in their conversa-

tion.

PARKOne of the nice things about beingblind is that I dont need a flashlightin corridors like this.

GREERYoure not going to be blind for long.You heard TJ. The damage might be tem-porary and might heal.

PARK (SADLY)Might and might.

GREERDont give up hope. Never give up onhope. Besides you have to get betterbefore we go home.

PARKWhy?

GREERBecause I want to show all my friendsmy hot girlfriend. And I dont wantthem to say that she only chose me be-cause she doesnt know what I looklike!

A wave of sadness passes over her face for a moment. She thenpauses a little. Smiles. And starts to laugh.

PARKI dont need my eyesight to know thatyou have that stupid grin on your face.The one you always get when you thinkyou said something smart.

(A beat)

But Ill do my best.

He rests his hand on her shoulder, tenderly. She feels it andsmiles a little. Sometimes you dont need words.

They reach the end of the corridor, and the other marine touchesthe chime while Greer goes naturally into breach position. Thedoor yawns open.

A beat as we realize that the corridor on the far side is lit up.

GREERWhat do we have here.

PARK

Ronald! Watch out!

She clumsily throws him to the wall as a LASER SHOT zips past. Hehugs the wall and she takes cover behind him.

He leans out and returns fire.

He ducks back into cover and looks to make sure that she is safe.Shes nestled against the wall, in an alcove trying to look assmall as possible.

Shes smart, and knows that hes looking out for her. While notlooking quite in his direction, she smiles and gives him thumbsup.

Another LASER SHOT zaps out, hitting the wall close to them. He

ducks back again.

Greer looks across the corridor at the other marine. Gestureswith his fingers to his eyes and down the corridor - hes askingthe other marine if he can see who or what is shooting. The ma-rine understands and answers in the negative.

He gestures for the other soldier to stay under cover, and reach-es for his radio.

GREERGreer to Young. Were in the fore sec-tion, taking fire. I repeat takingfire. We opened an unexplored part ofthe ship, and it looks like someone gothere before us.

Another blast emphasizes the point.

YOUNGIm sending a team down. Wait for back-up.

GREERRoger that.

Another shot. Hes pinned down.

FADE IN:

INT: DESTINY - CORIDOOR

As Greer, Park and the Marine are pinned down by enemy fire.Greer puts a mirror on the tip of his rifle and uses it to peerout.

In the darkness we see some shifting shapes. Were peering intothe mirror trying to make them out. Theres a little movement and

then -

ZING

As a laser takes off the mirror. With a muttered curse, Greerpulls the gun back. The tip is smoking from the laser blast, butthe barrel is otherwise undamaged and the gun is in working or-der.

The radio pings.

[Note - Saunders is a new marine that will show up from time totime. Hes not a regular character]

SAUNDERS (V.O - ON THE RADIO)Specialist Saunders here sir. Werejust outside the door.

GREERThe door is in the line of fire. Watchyourselves.

SAUNDERSYes sir. Weve got a little gift forour friends.

The door opens, with Saunders and a couple other marines flankingthe side of it. Laser fire erupts from further down the coridoor,going through the open door, and missing the marines. Saundersand Greers eyes meet, and Saunders tosses Greer something. Itsa small cylinder about the size of a soda can.

Greer catches it and looks down at it. A big grin grows acrosshis face.

Nice!

Saunders motions and throws another couple of the devices.

Greer puts two of the devices into his pockets and pulls the fuse

on the other, throwing it down the corridor towards their assail-ants.

GREERFlash out!

Theres a BANG and a FLASH OF LIGHT where the grenade explodes.Its designed to blind and disorient the enemy. Without thinkingwhether or not it can affect alien physiology (if indeed the ene-my are aliens), Greer, Saunders and the marines go to work.

They move down the corridor in pairs shooting everything theysee.

SAUNDERSClear!

GREERCorners clear

(a beat)

...well Ill be damned

He walks up to the corpse of one of their enemies and prods it

with his rifle. POV turns around and we see its one of theblueberry aliens.

GREERSecure this corridor. There may be moreof them!

CUT TO:

INT - DESTINY - STONES ROOM

Chloe and Wray are here together. Chloe is looking out the windowat the planet below.

CHLOEIt worked.

WRAYWhat worked?

CHLOEThe stones. I went home. To Earth.

She chokes back a sob.

WRAYAre you sure?

CHLOEYes. Im sure. I dont know how, but Iwent. But it was terrible.

WRAYWhat happened?

CHLOEThey were under attack. Earth was underattack. I saw cities in flames. NewYork, Washington, London, Paris. Theywere all in flames.

WRAYWashington?

She puts her hand to her mouth.

WRAY(Quietly)

Sharon

Her face hardens as she looks back to Chloe

WRAY(Ctd)

Are you sure? The device isnt working,and there could be some disorientationfrom the hibernation modules.

CHLOENobody else has any disorientation.

WRAYBut you were...

(a beat)

Modified. That could have an effect.

CHLOEIt was real. I was there.

WRAYI know you believe that but-

CHLOEIts not what I believe! Its what youdont believe. Why dont you trust me?

WRAYThats not it. Calm down, Chloe. Dontyou see it would be better for you ifwe had some proof. When we get the de-vice working again we can-

CHLOE(Shaking her head)

Eli would have believed me.

WRAYIts not a question of that. What ifyoure right? What if you tell thewhole ship that Earth is under attack?

(A beat)

And we cant see for ourselves or doanything about it. What good would thatdo anyone?

CHLOEI thought youd understand.

(A beat)

I guess I was wrong.

She storms out.

INT - DESTINY - LIT CORRIDOR

Chloe has left the Stones room. She walks a few yards and thenstops. Slumps against the wall, looking up at the ceiling.

CHLOEEli? Where are you?

(A beat)

You were always there for me and I-

(A long beat as she draws a breath,trying not to cry)

I hurt you. Im sorry.

(Another beat)

You were always there for me.

CUT TO:

INT - TOWER VESTIBULE - NIGHT

Scott reaches the group at the tower entrance.

SCOTTIts a dead end. Theres some kind ofterminal there which might open a door-way.

JAMESSir, weve been trying to raise Desti-ny, but cant. We think the comms are

being blocked by the tower but werenot su-

She doesnt get to finish as a ZING of laser fire comes from thetrees, hitting one of the marines and killing him instantly.

SCOTTFall back into the tower, go, go!

He and James lay down covering fire in the direction that the la-ser came from as the two civilians run into the cover of the tow-er vestibule. Scott and James have ducked down behind a largeroot, and occasionally pop up to shoot in the direction that they

think the enemy is in.

Scott looks to James.

SCOTTOn three you fall back into the tower

JAMESNo sir, let me cover for you.

SCOTTI gave you an order. One.

(a beat)

Theres silence but for the occasional distant song of a rainforest bird.

SCOTTTwo

He nods to James and she nods back.

SCOTTThree!

He leaps up from behind the root, opening fire as he goes. Hemoves sideways across the entrance to the vestibule, firing all

the way, a move designed to draw the enemys fire while Jamesscrambles into the entranceway.

He is answered by laser fire all around him, but manages to leapto cover behind a moss covered rock. Laser fire is zinging on it,but for now hes safe.

CUT TO:

INT - DESTINY - BRIDGE

YOUNGColonel Young to Lieutenant Scott. Comein.

(A beat)

Can you boost the signal?

BRODYNegative. Were at maximum already.

YOUNGDamn it.

BRODYThey took the only shuttle, and theresno Stargate on the planet. Without com-munications were-

YOUNGDeaf, dumb and blind. I know. Keep try-ing them.

Hes interrupted by a radio ping.

GREER(V.O.)

Weve cleared the area, sir. But we hadhitch hikers.

YOUNGWhat?

GREER(V.O.)

About a half dozen of those blue al-iens. You know the ones that tookChloe.

(A beat)

We killed them all.

CUT TO

INT - DESTINY - CORRIDOR

The other side of the conversation as Greer is talking withYoung.

YOUNG(V.O.)

See if you can find out anything. Likehow they got aboard.

GREERWe were asleep for three years. Itcould have happened any time.

YOUNGWeve lost contact with LieutenantScott and the away party.

GREERWonder if it is something to do with

these guys.

YOUNGSee what you can find out.

Greer shrugs and directs the three marines to explore further.

PARKDo you think they got Eli?

GREERI dont know. But they could havekilled all of us while we slept. Why

didnt they?

CUT TO:

INT - DESTINY - CONTROL INTERFACE ROOM

Rush is working with the terminal. Hes projecting models intothe air above it. As he works the patterns change, but they al-ways come back to simple, concentric circles.

He looks at his notepad again, and twiddles some parameters. Theideograms light up on the screen, and the model runs.

More concentric circles. He doesnt seem to be able to escapethem.

He throws his hands up in frustration, and steps back from theterminal.

From his new point of view we can see through the projection ofthe circles. They float in the air semi-translucent.

He looks curious for a moment, moving his head.

We follow his POV to see what hes looking at. We should see thecircle projected in the air, with the out-of-focus background be-hind.

Move the angle again, and now but the background slowly in focus.We see a line along one of the corridor walls, which is horizon-tal, and now cutting through the projected circle as a perfectdiameter.

RUSHPi?

EXT - PLANET SURFACE - NIGHT

Scott is still behind the rock where he had taken cover from theattack. Hes trying to use his walkie-talkie.

SCOTTScott to Destiny. Come in?

Static.

SCOTTScott to Colonel Young. Can you hearme, over?

More Static.

He peers over the edge of the rock slightly. If theres a sniper

out there...

No shots ring out. He sizes up the run to the vestibule entrance.He spots TJ and James lying prone, aiming their guns outwardsfrom the shadows. The attackers havent spotted them yet either.

James nods in Scotts direction and Scott, without hesitation,leaps up and sprints towards the vestibule entrance just as TJand James start shooting. TJ has a pistol, James has an automat-ic, but they let it all out to save their friend.

Lasers start to shoot both towards the vestibule entrance andScott as he runs frantically.

At the last minute he DIVES into the entranceway, followed by la-sers. He scrambles for cover as more laser fire rains down.

JAMESClose call

SCOTTYeah. Thanks Vanessa.

He dusts himself off as TJ and JAMES share a wordless look. Theyboth smile a little. He called her Vanessa.

SCOTTLets fall back deeper into the tunnel.Dont want to be taken out by a well-

placed grenade.

CUT TO:

INT : DESTINY CORIDOOR

Greer, Park and the Marines enter a cargo hold and turn on thelights. Signs of the aliens having been there are everywhere.Sleeping pods, what looks like rations and other equipment arestrewn around

GREERLooks like we found their nerve center.

As they fan out to check for more signs of life, Park notices abreeze above her head. She looks up, and theres BRIGHT LIGHTcoming from a hole in the ceiling. She winces a little. Its al-most like she saw it.

She feels around until she breaks a force field under the light.This ends up forming an elevator that floats her up into thecabin above.

Too late Greer notices!

GREER

Doctor Park!

He runs over, but by the time he reaches her, shes vanished intothe hole. He cant see any way up.

BEGIN ACT FOUR

INT - DESTINY - CORIDOOR

Greer is still peering up into the bright hold in the ceiling.The one that Park had vanished into, moments before.

Oddly enough, Parks head appears in the hole.

PARKYou down there Ronald?

GREERYeah. You ok?

PARKIm fine. I guess its their version ofa ladder.

(A Beat)

And tell Colonel Young I found some-thing that hes going to love-

She breaks out into a smile. Shes beautiful when she smiles, andRonald is relieved and softened.

INT - BUILDING VESTIBULE - ON PLANET

James, Scott and TJ work their way back to the dead end with tehterminal. Doctor Boone is working on the terminal. Hes had thesame level of success as TJ. None.

SCOTTHurry up and get it opened. Weretrapped here.

BOONEDont you think thats what Im tryingto do?

SCOTTWhatever youre doing. Do it faster.

Boone looks back at Scott. Annoyed. But he understands the stakesand redoubles his efforts. TJ, James and Scott take up the bestdefensive positions at the bend in the corridor.

JAMESI got two clips left.

Im down to three shots.

SCOTTOn my last clip, but-

He has a holstered pistol. He takes it out and hands it to TJ.

SCOTTThis ones full.

She nods and takes it.

We hear a SCRATCHING noise from further down the corridor. Thedirection out.

JAMESYou hear that?

SCOTTYeah. Theyre coming.

He turns back to see if Doctor Boone has made any progress. Hesstill working with the controls, and were still seeing a lot ofred. We dont even know if that means fail, but nothing is hap-pening.

CUT TO:

EXT - DESTINY - SPACE

As she continues to float, beautifully, in orbit.

INT - DESTINY - CHLOES ROOM

Shes pacing up and down. Restless. Her hands are ending in lit-tle fists held firmly at her side.

CHLOEEli, Eli, where are you?

She looks up to the ceiling and around the room.

CHLOEAre you there Eli? In Destiny? Are you

with her? With Ginn?

The doorway chimes. Its Rush.

RUSHCome with me.

CHLOEWhere are we going?

He doesnt answer and jogs off. She has no choice but to follow.

INT - BUILDING VESTIBULE - NIGHT

Scott, James and TJ are hugging their cover. We hear more

SCRATCHING sounds as their unseen enemy comes closer.

Scott peers around, and we see from his POV. Several somethingsare coming down the corridor. He cant see exactly what they are,but theyre getting closer.

He gestures back towards the civilians. He motions for them toGet Down - Boone ignores him, continuing to work on the termi-nal.

He looks back to TJ and James. He holds up three fingers. Theynod.

He does a silent count.

One. They cock their weapons and prepare to aim.

Two. They lift their weapons and aim down the sights.

Three. All three leap out and start shooting down the corridor.There are screams from the aliens as they are hit, but they re-turn fire. Scott is hit on the shoulder and he spins around,falling to the ground. But he still keeps shooting.

TJ drops her pistol and takes out the second one as she stands

straight, aiming down the sights, shooting down the corridor.Every shot is a hit, before she gets hit on the leg, and goesdown.

And then - BOOM! Theres a huge explosion and the entrancewaystarts to cave in. James drags TJ back, away from the falling de-bris. Scott crawls back.

Boone is slumped over the terminal, a huge gaping hole in hisback. Dead.

More sounds coming from down the corridor. More movement.

SCOTTOk guys, this is it, make every shotcount.

JAMESIm out.

SCOTTWell youve got a heck of a right hook.

A LIGHT is shining down the passageway. Its bouncing around mak-ing the shadows dance. As it gets closer the three soldiers steelthemselves for action.

A beat.

And then the light turns to show the smiling face of SergeantGreer

GREERGuess whos coming to dinner?

He sees the wounded and dead, and gets more serious.

GREERMedic! We got wounded here!

CUT TO:

EXT: TOWER - DUSK

As we see the outside of the tower from above. Several of thesmall ships belonging to the blueberry aliens are landing. WeFOLLOW one down as it lands.

The hatchway opens and Rush and Chloe get out.

INT: TOWER - DEAD END

Young is here. Scott is being bandaged up. Hes going to be okay,as is TJ.

YOUNGWhat is this, and why did they want itso bad.

RUSHLogical to assume its some kind of en-trance.

YOUNGWith a lock?

RUSH

Or a test. They want to test if wereworthy to enter here.

(A beat)

Or at least smart enough to get in.

CHLOEI recognize some of these symbols.

RUSHAye. And I recognize this one.

He drags a circle to the center of the screen. A symbol appearsover it.

YOUNGWhat are you doing?

Rush then drags a straight line, intersecting the circle to makea diameter. Another symbol appears.

CHLOECould it be that simple?

YOUNGThe circumference and the diameter

RUSHMathematics is the one language thatcrosses cultures. The symbols andsounds may change, but the result isthe same. The value that we get when wedivide these two was called pi by thegreeks.

(A beat)

But the people who built this werentGreek. But they knew mathematics.

Rush drags the symbols so that the first is above the second.

YOUNGAnd they want to see if we do, too.

As he puts them in place, the display glows orange for a moment,and the symbols are replaced by a new set.

YOUNGChloes work gave you Pi. Co-incidence?

Rush is peering at the new set of characters on the display.

There are no circles this time, but there are a number of spin-ning spheres.

RUSHI dont think so. I think someone wasgiving us a hint.

Rush is rubbing his chin. We hear the scratching sound of hisstubble.

RUSHNo, but I think its the same.

He drags two of the spheres into an empty area on the screen. Asymbol appears above each, and a line is drawn, connecting them,with a symbol above that.

CHLOEThe mass of each object and the dis-tance between them.

RUSHWhich yields the universal gravitation-al constant, yes.

CHLOEGravity is determined by the product ofthe masses divided by the square of thedistance between them.

RUSHRight.

He drags out the calculations on the screen. It pauses for a mo-ment, and glows orange.

(A beat)

The screen then dims, and a crack, highlighted by a bright lightbeyond, appears in the wall at the dead end.

It opens to an entranceway, and our heroes step in.

INT - TOWER - NERVE CENTER

They enter a large, wide, room which is about three stories high,and looks to take the full width of the tower. Its circular inshape, and the center is dark.

As our heroes walk towards the center, the light follows them,gradually illuminating everything.

They finally reach the center.

As this point the music should crescendo as we see what is at thecenter.

Its a pod, of sorts, about the right size to hold a human being.Connected to it are cables that snake out towards the hidden

depths of the building.

Rush approaches it and reaches up his hand to wipe the dustyglass surface.

He smiles a little as the camera turns around to see his POV.

Inside the pod, looking like he is sleeping peacefully is...
