BTS3900AL swap outdoor Macro Site Procedures

Step 1: Move old 3G cabinet and battery to aside with AC power . Pre-install BTS3900AL and TP48200A on the position of 3G BTS equipment

Then power on PS and BTS3900AL using temporary power and commissioning.

Step 2:Druing swap, firstly swap 3G ,then 2G. Finally dismantle 3G equipment and 3G battery .

If there is just 2G BTS or both 2G and 3G are used E1 transmission, need to

Swap E1 transmission cable from old BTS to new MBTS.

Procedure

Check the transmission cable fristly ,if it's enough for new MBTS, no need

to install and route new .Otherwise , install new transmission cable for new

Check the WMPT board on the BBU cabinet. If have, install multi

transceiver(850nm ) into GTMUb FE1 and UTRP2 FE/GE0 interface

,then connect two interface using multi optical jumper(Orange).

Insert single transceiver(1310nm) to UTRP FE/GE 1 interface and install

single optical jumper(Yellow) From UTRP GE interface to ODF.

If there is no WMPT board on the BBU , need to insert single transceiver

(1310nm) and connect UMPT GE interface with ODF using single

optical jumper(Yellow)

Attach temporary label on FE/GE optical fiber.

5 Install alarm cables A

Note

PGND cables and signal cables cannot be bound . A certain distance must be

reserved between them to prevent interference from each other.

The power cable must be separately bundled and cannot be bundled together with other cables

anywhere. Multiple power cables must be bundled when routed.

If the length of the power cable is insufficient, replace the cable rather than adding connectors

joints to lengthen the cable.

Power on BBU usning temporary power firstly

Insert 2G USB flash to GTMU USB interface ,download 2G data.(for 3G ,insert WMPT USB

interface )

Check the USB flash status. For detials ,see the guide of USB commissioning .

After commissioning , login GTMU and UMTS and check the boards status.


7 Install PSUs C

Procedure

Check the old jumper connector firstly. Ensure that jumper connector near

BTS is DIN bend male, near feeder is DIN male or female.The feeder

connector is DIN female or male near BTS .

If some sites use other type connectors. Both DIN-Male and DIN-Female

cant match with the feeder connectors. Dismental old BTS feeder

connector, make new DIN-Female feeder connector to match new jumper

Lead cable to the BTS3900AL installing position,make 2 labels,One on the

feeder another on the top of the cabinet.

Note

Protect the connector of jumper before swap.


6.1 Install and route 3G &2G RF

The output current of each PSU is 50A . The number of PSUs depends on actual capacity

requirments for the TP48200A

Secure the bolts in both sides of the PSU with screwdriver

Connect transmission optical cable from ODF to new BBU UPTR board

GE1 interface

If there is no optical transmission, need to connect E1 cable from DDF to

E1/T1 interface of GTMU and WMPT for 2G &3G transmission

Then call the OMC to confirm that transmission is ok or not.

Notes

1. If old 3G optical cable length is enough , it's better reuse it.

2. If transmission is not ok, check the optical transceiver and cables firstly. Ensure

that TX and RX cable is right and Transceiver is right.

interface, need to replace the jumper connector so that the jumper can connect with

antenna and feeder.

For Huawei 3G equipment ,no need to Swap TMA and RCU except broken

For non-Huawei 3G equipment, need to Swap TMA and RCU.

Dismantle old RCU and TMA ,then install new TMA and RCU.

Make the waterproof after connecting new RCU and TMA .

Make the lable for TMA and RCU jumper.

collect RCU serial number and feedback it to Huawei

Procedure

Install batteries in TP48200A cabinet, pay attention to the positive and

negative pole of the battery.

Then connect cables per 2 batteries with battery connetor.

Connect batteries output cable to battery circuit breaker in the top of cabinet.


Time9.2 Install battery CD 15minutes

Tools

Check the transmission equipment position. If it's in the old BTS

cabinet ,the transmssion equipment must be replaced to new PS

cabinet .otherwise , no need to replace it .

Then Dismantle 3G transimission equipment if 3G transimission

equipment is in old 3G BTS Cabinet.

Install 3G transimission equipment in the new Retifier cabinet

(TP48200A)

Then connect 3G transimission equipment power cable using new

power cable.

field.No cable ties or other sundries are left on the floor or in the cabinets.

The equipment room should be neat and tidy. . Spare parts should be

arranged in a tidy way after installation.

Precedure

Collect the tools and extra cables on site.

Clear up the equipment room and the outdoors.
