Revolution is part of everybody’s life

Life could be so easy and beautyful, but most of the time we are too preoccupied with our day-to-day worries, the stress at work, the high expactations of others and the crises which we are bombarded with by the media in order to put us under pressure and frighten us. People who are anxious and scared are easier to rule and control by politicians, lobbies and powerful companies.

Considering this aspect we lose perspective on the essential things of life and the natural privileges we have been given. It seems that real and carefree joy and pleasure is something we have to work or pay for. Sometimes the joy and pursuit of happiness seems to be unreachable. I am talking about the right to live without being persecuted, to enjoy the freedom of speech and mind and, of course, the right to a life free of any kind of suppression. This is our revolution ... but others? They have to fi ght fi rstly for their lifes.

All these thoughts, however, seem to be somewhat dispensable, when we are confronted with the pictures of a painful revolution and hear about all the horrible outrages that have happened in Sudan. My dear friend Abdelaziz Baraka Sakin taught me a lot about the circumstances and the suffering in his country that is ruled by a bloody dictatorship. That is why I have decided to do a artwork series that might be something like a small stone that will help to raise the mountain of freedom in Sudan.

Inspired by all these thoughts I originated the artwork-series “Stakes Of Sudan“, an abstract visualization of the pain of revolution and the call for help of a tortured nation. The pictures have been hosted on Facebook in September 2013 and did fi nd a really high acceptance especially on Sudanese social media networks and also to my Facebook friends all over the world. Freedom!

PS: Feel free to share this and to make the mountain of freedom higher!
