and different types of paper to
create poppies.
We explored cereal play using
our hands we used small words
to describe the texture.
We made superhero masks
where we stuck different
coloured squares onto our mask.
We explored superhero
playdough which was blue,
glittery and had peppermint
extract, we loved the scent and
used our hands to make marks
and squeeze in the playdough.
We used our hands to create
butterflies; we independently
pushed our hands into the paint
and onto the paper.
Little Boppers
We have been making our
poppies using lolly sticks,
cupcake cases and painting them
red.
We made our own cakes and
decorated them with red icing
and sprinkles to represent our
own poppy cakes.
We used our hands to create a
robin using different colours of
paint and winter hats and gloves
as we talk about the change in
weather, we used sequins, glue
and cotton wool to decorate
them.
We went on a leaf hunt in our
garden and used the leaves to
make marks in paint.

Some Exciting news
this week!
Our fish have had
babies!
Be sure to come and
have a look and
watch them grow
with us!
Zoolab came to Playtime nursery Staines on Wednesday
9th November, they brought a range of different reptiles,
bugs and animals for all the children to see and even
hold.
We met, Milkshake the milk snake, Jane the cockroach,
Leo the gecko, Squeak the rat and spike the bearded
dragon. Alan from zoo lab gave us a description about
each reptile, insect and animal and encouraged the
children to touch or hold them.
The children were really excited and were sad to see
them go.
We hope you like our snaps!

Crazy Art
Time: 10 Mins
Age: Under 5’s
Level: Easy
Materials
Piece of Cardboard
Paint
Clingfilm
Method
1. Squirt small bits of paint on to the
cardboard using as many colours as you
would like
2. Lay a piece of cling film over the top (I
wrapped it around the sides too to stop
the paint oozing out the sides)
3. Now the fun part! Squish the paint
through the cling film!
Now you’ve got a crazy looking picture and the
colours will start blending to create different
colours.
How many colours can you see?
