STAGE 2 IMAGE MANIPUALTION

• Good image manipulation is the key to transferring your selected images/images successfully onto your screen.

• Images must be both black and white and high contrast if they are to burn on successfully onto your silk.

• Pay special attention to important details on your selected images such as faces – lack of contrast or too much contrast will result in featureless faces!!!

• There are lots of computer packages that you can use from basic word to photo shop and paint shop pro. You can also alter images by careful manipulation of the settings on a photocopier.

Stage 2 – Image ManipulationUsing Word

• Copy and paste your image into a word document.• Double left click > Picture• Image control > change to greyscale• Use the brightness and contrast bar or percentage to alter

your selected image.• This is basic but effective. You have to be patient as you

cannot see the image change before you click o.k. Use the edit button to cancel any mistakes.

• For a general guide for images like the one I have used, try increasing the contrast first. Alter the brightness and contrast gradually and you shouldn’t have to edit too much.

• Don’t forget to annotate your images.• Once altered you can copy and paste them into a

composition. See Stage 3
