Beach restoration with geotextile tubes as submerged breakwaters in

Yucatan, Mexico:Ing E. Alvareza,, Ramiro Rubiob, Herbert Ricaldeb

    Site condition:

The beaches of the Northern coast of Yucatan in Mexico have been in

a permanent erosion process estimated at1m per year .

Proposed solution:Woven polypropylene geotextile tubes were considered optimal for

    the beach restoration project.

Using submerged geotextile tubes in the protection

of the E. Korean shore: Young In Oh , Eun Chul Shin

Site condition:Shore erosion is currently causing severe damage to shorelines and public

properties along the east coast of Korea.

    Proposed solution:

    Geotextile tube technology

Stability analysis by 2-dimensional limit equilibrium theory
