Year of the Word: Lent

A very simple display throughout Lent can remind children of the 40 days and the three ways we prepare ourselves during Lent – almsgiving, fasting and prayer.

An interactive display towards the end of Lent would be images and artefacts symbolising the events of Holy week for children to reflect on.

Jumping Fish Publications ‘Experience Easter’ and ‘Experience Easter Outside’ are a series of prayer stations or displays which can be set up in school or church or in the grounds, telling the story of Holy Week.

Each pack comprises a set of laminated cards, giving a colour photograph of each station along with detailed instructions of how to create the stations, as well as careful directions to help the group leaders explore each part of the story with the children. Each station also includes a reflective, multi-sensory activity.
