Blood Drive Every 2 seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. The Knights of Columbus will host an American Red Cross Blood Drive here at St. William of York in the parish center Sunday, October 4th from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Calling 1-800-733-2767 or visiting redcrossblood.org to schedule an appointment is strongly recommended, as walk-ins will have considerably longer wait times. This helps the Red Cross to determine how big a staff they have to send to support the drive and allows you to use Rapid Access the morning of the blood drive which helps speed up the process and lowers the amount of waiting time. Remember to drink plenty of water, eat a good meal, and bring a photo ID.

Novena for Life Rosary Come all and join the Knights of Colum-bus in praying a Novena for Life Rosary in the church. Prayers will occur weekly on Sunday evenings at 5:00 PM through October 4.

Over 25 Years of Authentic Catholic Education

    School News

“Thou hast made us for thyself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest

    in thee.” - St. Augustine

Our teachers are finding creative ways to

continue their hands on lessons! This past week, our fifth grade students were able to have

their own individual experiment in science class. We are so thankful for the amazing teachers that dedicate themselves to our

    students!

    RE Program

2020-2021: Online classes are now in full swing – Week Three

My Catholic Faith Delivered online courses are now fully up and running. We have experienced some challenges with the system, but are working through them.

We ask that parents set aside time each week to complete the required lessons according to the Grade Curriculum

Students are being monitored and if not already, assigned a Catechist who will be responsible for moni-toring student progress within the online program, be a point of con-tact for questions or concerns, and an additional source of encourage-ment to both parent and student. With the hope of coming back to classes in January, we are in need of Catechists. Please call the RE office for more information.

As dispensation to attend Mass is still in affect per Bishop Burbidge, and if family issues prevent you from attending mass in person, we ask that parents attend online Mass regularly to maintain some type of normalcy and keep connected to the church. Church attendance is picking up and we see more and more families coming back.

We will continue to post to our new website page all information pertinent to the program along with emails and other forms of communications to keep you up to date on all requirements and meetings.

With the uncertainty of where the months will lead us, we ask for your continued patience and understanding as we traverse the unknown and shift course as the events of the days and weeks unfold.

God Bless each of you and your loved ones, especially during these trying times.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

New ushers are needed for all Masses, volunteers are placed on flexible schedules and serve with a crew of experienced ushers. This is one of the easiest ways to get involved at St. William of York! For more information please contact Alison Truslow at (540) 779-3012 or [email protected]

Prayer Request… Please keep everyone who is serving in Iraq and Afghan-istan and their family members in your prayers.

Michael Harrison, Jason Locke, Orlando Medina, Patrick Mooney II, Andrew Rodriguez, Andrew Sines, Jonathan Sines, and Josh Taylor.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen.

If you have a relative serving in Iraq or Afghanistan and would like to have his/her name included in our prayer list, please contact the parish office.

New Child Protection Policy Bishop Burbidge put into effect an updated Policy on the Protection of Children/Young People and Prevention of Sexual Misconduct and/or Child Abuse (Policy) on Janu-ary 1, 2020. The Policy update was necessary to include updates in civil law, canon law, and Church documents that relate to child protection.

The updated policy requires all clergy, employees, and volunteers with substantial contact with minors to acknowledge that they have received a copy of the poli-cy.

If you are a volunteer who have done Virtus training and filled out all necessary background checks and have not received an email from Kayla Dittmer in the parish of-fice, please contact her at [email protected]. The new policy needs to be signed and returned before you can volunteer again.

New to the Area? Welcome! Please call or visit the parish office

to register with us. Are you moving this summer?

Please don’t forget to contact us so we can update our records.

Please join the Knights of Columbus today in the St. William of York parish center after all morning Masses for breakfast from 8 AM to 12 PM. We are ensuring all COVID19 protocols like

face masks, social distancing and hand sanitizations as is practiced at the Church will be practice in the cen-ter. All proceeds go to support the church and chari-ties.

He ends with the beautiful hymn extolling the humility and sac-rifice of Christ.
