ANNUNCIATION PARISH CLIFTON, CINCINNATI, OHIO
At Next Weekend’s Liturgies: 5:00 p.m. Saturday & 10:00 a.m. Sunday Next Sunday is Passion (Palm) Sunday. It is a special day beginning a special week in the life of the Church and in the
lives of Christians. This is marked by special things that happen at the Liturgy: the blessing of, and procession with, palm branches, as well as the proclamation of the Pas-
sion from St. Luke’s Gospel. To help connect with these special rituals you are reminded
of the following:
(1) For the Blessing and Procession, at the 5:00 p.m. Mass, please gather, as you are able, around the Font at the rear of Church; at the 10:00 a.m. Mass, please gather outside in
front of the rectory (inside around the Font if the weather is inclement). Palm branches
will be available at these locations. Once the procession begins, you are asked to follow the ministers (servers, cantor, choir, etc.) into Church. You are encouraged to sit closer
toward the front, as this expresses the unity of our procession, the unity of our gath-
ering, and our eagerness to listen to the Word, especially the Passion.
(2) For the Proclamation of the Passion, please note that it is proclaimed by three alternat-ing voices: the priest and two lectors. The assembly’s grace is to attentively listen to their
proclamation, and so receive, as from the Lord Himself, the words of everlasting life.
(3) Finally, make every effort to arrive in Church before the beginning of the Liturgy. If this means you are standing
around in back of Church or out front with others, then take the opportunity to meet and visit. After all, it is as a com-
munity of faith that we journey through Holy Week.
CRS Rice Bowl Week 5: Gaza Despite earning a teaching degree, Ona struggled to find work in Gaza. She was
not able to apply to jobs elsewhere because she is not allowed to leave Gaza. Through a CRS program, Ona found a paid internship as a teacher which gave
her confidence and inspiration to branch out on her own. Ona saved her last two
paychecks from the internship and used them to open a tutoring center where she
now helps students of all ages in math and other subjects. After one month in business, Ona has 41 children coming to her center. With the money she's
earned, Ona was able to replace her home's tarp with windows to keep out the
wind and rain.
Catholic Relief Services matches people like Ona, who are living in Gaza and
looking for work, with businesses looking for employees or interns.
