Sunday, September 9 t h i s . . . GRANDPARENTS DAY!

S t . Joach im and St . Anne, Grandparents of Jesus . . . P ray for us .

Right to Life

For all whose life is in danger, and especially for those for whom hunger and disease is a constant threat: that we might cherish their lives and seek to save them We pray to the Lord

Jesus tells the crowd that only those who renounce all of their possessions can be His disciples. Is He truly asking us to give us everything? Perhaps instead He is trying to help us see that everything we think we own is really a

gift from God. Good stewards know that and strive to use those gifts accountably.

Pray For Vocations

In today’s Gospel, we hear the Lord’s great call to discipleship. Jesus leaves nothing to the imagination when it comes to what he requires of those of us who wish to follow Him. Christ invites us to carry our cross and follow after Him. Discovering in what way we are called to do this is impossible without prayer. By doing so, we are not carrying our cross alone. The good Lord will guide us along the path He has chosen for us, whatever that may be. Following Christ in becoming a priest, deacon or religious brother or sister calls some of us to discipleship. If you think this might be your vocation, you are not alone. Contact the Vocation Office at 973-497-4365 or e-mail [email protected].

The plans you make now will strengthen our parish family by providing perpetual financial support year after year. Learn more by contacting the parish office or Anne DeMesa in the Archdiocese of Newark’s Planned Giving Office at 973-497-4048.

Thank you for you helping us to get this helpful information to the people who need it. If you have any comments or suggestions for me on topics you would like to see in your bulletin, I would like to hear from you.

Also, please know that I am available to make formal presentations about various planned giving opportunities at your parish. Feel free to call me at (973)497-4080 to discuss this and other issues.

Please look for future notices from Planned Giving concerning upcoming financial seminars and workshops.

nature and in all of ordinary life.

It would be my privilege to assist you on your spiritual journey.
