    THE STORY OF OUR REDEMPTION

    We begin the final week of Lent with these familiar readings. This year, we hear the Passion from the Gospel of Luke. These readings for Palm Sunday and the Passion used to be read on successive Sundays. Now they are combined into a single feast, so that we may see the whole sweep of the glory and the suffering played out. Jesus accepts the adulation of the crowd, the foreshadowing of his glory in the Resurrection. He bids fare-well to his disciples in his last Passover, and forgives his tormentors as he dies on the cross. Later this week, we enter the Holy Triduum of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, when the whole story of our redemption will play out once again.

  • How appropriate that we finish up on Holy Week! Those of us who have volunteered see the reality of abortion and become even more pro-life. It is a movement of converts! Join us at Kolbe Academy/Trinity Prep for a pot luck sup-per at 4:00 p.m, Palm Sunday, to mark the ending of the 22nd campaign. Thanks to all who participated.

    BLESSED SACRAMENT ADORATION

    This weekend we celebrate Palm Sunday weekend. It is a time to reflect on the passion and suffering of Jesus Christ in preparation for Easter. Everything that the Church has done during the past weeks has been to prepare us to celebrate Easter, to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. That is what our faith is all about, for all of us to always be ready to celebrate with joy the fruits of Easter. I will pray that through our experience of the passion of Jesus Christ we might continue in our spiritual journey towards God so that hopefully one day we all might be one with Him. May God continue to bless all of us at St. Thomas, Fr. Abel

    Este fin de semana celebramos el fin de semana del Domingo de Ramos. Es un momento para refle-xionar sobre la pasión y el sufrimiento de Jesucristo en preparación para la Pascua. Todo lo que la Iglesia ha hecho durante las últimas semanas ha sido prepararnos para celebrar la Pascua, para cele-brar la resurrección de Jesucristo. De eso se trata nuestra fe, para que todos nosotros siempre este-mos listos para celebrar con alegría los frutos de la Pascua. Oraré para que a través de nuestra expe-riencia de la pasión de Jesucristo, podamos continuar en nuestro viaje espiritual hacia Dios para que algún día todos podamos ser uno con él.

    Que Dios continúe bendiciéndonos a todos en Santo Tomás;

    P. Abel

  • Christ became obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. because of

    this, God greatly exalted him and be-stowed on him the name which is above

    every name.

    R. Honor y gloria a ti, Señor Jesús. Cristo se humilló por nosotros y por obediencia aceptó inclu-

    so la muerte, y una muerte de cruz. Por eso Dios lo exaltó sobre todas las cosas y le otorgó el nombre que está sobre todo nombre. R. Honor y gloria a ti, Señor Jesús.
