With Hurricane and Wildfires happen- ing, our attitudes can be divisive or encouraging. Disasters occur and people from all walks of life come together to work and help one another. However, there are others who are not so willing. Yet the challenge of the readings this weekend is to Live for the Lord. The message is clear for us, we are to live as sisters and brothers in Gods human family. We are called to love, a love that is genuine and all- inclusive. In reality, we fail in our love and hurt one another. When this happens - it will happen and does happen _ we must forgive and be forgiven. This forgiveness is not simply a legal procedure. We are to forgive from our hearts”. This for- giveness is rooted in our sincere love for all in Gods family. Love means more than emotion -it means doing all we can do for others so that they will have a full life. It means dedication to justice and mercy in our world. It recognizes the quali- ties and uniqueness of each and every person as a child of God and that all of us belong to one family of faith. Twenty-fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time September 17,2017
