St. Theresa Catholic Church
We have come to the end of another year, another church year. This weekend, we celebrate Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe. In our everyday lives, we probably have gone through many different emotions and challenges. Hopefully, our faith has been there with us through all those moments. Our readings focus on the theme of Kingship. Our image of Kingship is that of Royalty. Our challenge is loyalty. However there are those who hold the prestige of Royalty often forget loyalty. In the Gospel, Royalty also includes services. Jesus does not save himself on the cross. He is ridiculed and mocked yet his witness and service is to the criminals that were crucified with him. Life and witness is a bigger picture. In our everyday lives, do we ever slow down to give thanks. At times, we can take life and faith for granted. Let us live out our faith and rejoice at Christ the King

The Shoes of the Fisherman Excellent and very interesting story of a Russian priest, Kiril Lakota, imprisoned by the oppressive Soviet gov-ernment for twenty years, who is released to Rome at the height of the Cold War in a Soviet bid to control the Vatican and achieve geopolitical domination. The current Pope dies, and he is elected Pope Kiril. As Pope, he faces enormous pressure from global powers and the Church. Watch the movie to see how he responds.
Pastoral Exhortation: God’s Mercy through the Ministry of the Church To conclude the Year of Mercy, Bishop Joseph E. Strickland has issued a pastoral exhortation to the faithful of the Diocese of Tyler on the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. The complete text of the exhortation in English and Spanish can be found at www.dioceseoftyler.org Please read and share.
