TWENTY-SIXTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME SEPTEMBER 30, 2018

We thank God and we thank you for the continued success of “Preserving our Faith, our Heritage and our Church.”

APPEAL UPDATE as of September 16, 2018208 Gifts/pledges totaling ............................... $ 180,760.00Paid to date .................................................... $ 162,210.00

As we near the end of our interior and exterior church restoration campaign, we want to update you on a few things. Our new railings are slated to be installed by the end of the month.

Some work will be required on the steps going to the choir loft as well as the steps leading out of the sacristy.

The original campaign is slated to end in December of 2018 to coincide with the end of our 165th Anniversary year. We thank those of you who have completed your pledge, as well as those who faithfully make their monthly payments. If you have not fulfilled your pledge, we ask you to try to do so, by that time.

After December, we will continue to have a Restoration envelope in the monthly packet to be used on a voluntary basis for any other projects that arise. Just like at home, there is an evolving list of tasks that require attention.

The parishioners of St. Stephen have always been responsive to the needs of our church, and now we have this beautiful place of worship to show for our efforts. Because of your generous sacrifices, we can be proud to call ourselves the Family of St. Stephen.

and Genesee Avenue, in Warren.

A Family Perspective – by Bud Ozar – The words in today’s Gospel, “Whoever gives a cup of water in the name of Christ will not lose their reward” hits us at home. As parents, we gain our “reward” when we bring water to a frightened child in the middle of the night, or Kool Aid to parched five-year old’s, or hold ice chips to the fevered lips of a spouse. It is that simple and that sacred. In our homes, we give until it hurts “in the name of Christ.”

HURRICANE FLORENCE-THANK YOU!! Thank you for your generous donation of $605.00 for Hurricane Florence. If you did not donate but would like to, please make your check payable to Catholic Charities and on the memo line, write Hurricane Florence Relief. Send the donations to Catholic Charities, 144 West Wood Street, Youngstown, OH 44503. 100% of all monies collected go to the disaster relief. Please pray for the people affected by Hurricane Florence.
