matters and human resource issues. Ethics Point, an independent third-party company, has been selected to offer all diocesan parishes, schools, agencies and departments the opportunity to file reports via the web at www.patersondiocese.org or
through a call to 1-855-247-3140. For more information, check the Ethics Point link on the diocesan website.

Next Sunday is the in-pew pledge for the Bishops Annual Appeal. You will be
asked to make a pledge to the appeal. The appeal reaches all aspects of the
society of our diocese. Catholic Charities receives the largest portion of the
appeal. The branches of Catholic Charities are Hope House located in Dover,
which provides counseling, a repair service for seniors, food pantry, mothering
courses, cooking and inculturalization classes, Veteran Services, and housing
information. The site in Franklin offers counseling, a food pantry and thrift
shop, rent assistance, Veteran services and other programs. Paterson has three
pre-schools, a thrift shop, a food pantry, rent assistance, Senior Citizen Programs,
and ESL Legal Immigration assistance. Straight and Narrow located in Paterson
is the Drug and Alcohol abuse program offering rehab and housing. The Hispanic
Center in Passaic provides a combination of after school programs, food pantry,
counseling, Veterans Services and other family related programs. Then there is
the Department for Persons with Disabilities located in Oak Ridge which has
various satellite sites and group homes in the diocese.
Other programs that benefit from the appeal are seminary education, which is
graduate school level tuition. There is a need to educate a new level of cannon
lawyers and other specialized priests to serve in diocese as priests age. Another
is Nazareth Village the retirement home for the priests of the diocese and their
continued healthcare. And finally the Chancellery office which is the smallest
program funded, from which we benefit as a parish because the pastor has
diocesan duties.
Please help us in making our goal of $9,350, everything over that amount; the
parish receives 50% back. Thank you for your prayerful contribution.
God Bless, Fr. Rich
