17th Sunday Ordinary Time, Year A: Pray for the gift of discernment, as our guide in making decisions. Everything has intrinsic value, but if we over-value our favourite “things”, we devalue God. I need to loosen my grip on what is transient, and seek what is eternal, in the spirit of discernment, and know the ultimate treasure on which my life depends.
Parish Office hours: Tuesday & Friday: 9am-2pm

Sanctuary lamps may be lit for the personal intentions of Parishioners.
Please enquire at the sacristy after Mass. The Sanctuary Lamps will burn
for:
1. 2.
First Holy Communion: First Holy Communion Masses will take place on Saturday 1st August at
12pm and Sunday 2nd August at 2pm. Guests are limited to 10 per candidate and should be seated 10minutes
before the ceremony begins - please be aware that face masks are compulsory for adults in the church. Marshalls
will be on hand to help guests to their seats as social distancing must be strictly adhered to and the pews in the
church are marked out accordingly. Hand sanitiser must be used on entrance and exit of the Church.
We wish the children a very special day celebrating the Blessed Sacrament.
Baptism: If your child’s Baptism was cancelled due to Covid 19, please contact the Parish Office if you wish to
arrange a new date. Please be aware that you will only be able to have a maximum of 30 guests attending the
Baptism and it is compulsory for all adult guests to wear a face mask in Church.
Confirmation: A date for the final session for candidates to attend will be advertised soon.
How will we keep the church clean & disinfected? We have put in certain measures to help keep our environment as safe as possible & after each Mass the marshals will clean all the surfaces where people have had contact. We do please need more volunteers as I’m sure you can imagine, cleaning the whole church after each Mass is a massive task. Please see the Parish clergy if you are able to help.
Please be aware, advice at the moment is that the rest room should remain closed due to the cleaning implications, so please only use in special circumstances.
Your Offertory
In the current Covid 19 environment we are very
grateful to those parishioners whose offertory is paid
by standing order.
Since Services stopped in March, in Church offertory
both envelope and loose have reduced by over 75%. If
you usually donate in cash, or if you are in the
envelope scheme could you please consider changing
to a weekly/monthly standing order instead?
Forms are available at the back of the church. If you
are able to gift aid your donation, then you will need to
complete the Gift aid declaration on the bottom of the
form. (If you are currently a gift aider then signing this
declaration will not be necessary).
Complete the attached standing order mandate. If you
bank online, then please set up the standing order
yourself. Payee WRCDT –St Saviours Abbots Langley
