FROM THE PASTOR…
Dear Parishioners, Most of you are aware that our Korean parishioners are marking their 25th Anniversary this year. One of the special events on the program will be a concert of religious vocals, to be presented in our church next Sunday, April 24th, at 3:00 pm. The group, called “Pilgrim Ensemble”, comes here as a courtesy of the Korean Association of New York, in tribute to the special milestone being celebrated by our Korean parishioners. An invitation is extended to one and all to attend this special musical program next weekend. This past Monday, a contingent of volunteers from our Food Pantry (and other Catholic pan-tries) were treated to a thank-you luncheon by the regional office (Queens North) of Catholic Chari-ties. We are grateful for the partnership we share with Catholic Charities in providing our twice-weekly feeding ministry here. Catholic Charities wants to remind all in need that they have a “Call and Walk-in” program at their Astoria location (23-40 Astoria Blvd.) every Tuesday 9:30-11:30 am and 1:30-4:30 pm. Limited slots are available. Their phone (Call Center) is 718-722-6001. You can also visit their website at www.ccbq.org to check out their array of available services. We continue our Easter Flowers listing (intentions and donors) in this bulletin and will com-plete it in the next issue. If you see anything spelled incorrectly, please let the rectory office know and we will rectify it. A belated congratulations to Judy Becker and David De La Cruz, who were installed as Ex-traordinary Ministers of Holy Communion at the liturgy on Holy Thursday. If you know of any ill or homebound parishioners who would like the Eucharist brought to them, contact the rectory office. Our EMHC’s would be happy to oblige. I spoke with Father Brian Dowd, pastor of Queen of Angels, earlier this week. He is getting progressively stronger after his cardiac surgery, and thanks all at St. Raphael’s for your concern and prayers (which we continue). I’m doing my “Magic with a Message” program this weekend at Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Bushwick, and my “Priesto Magic Act” at St. Kevin’s parish in Auburndale on Monday. Beneficiary of both presentations is St. Raphael’s parish. Hope you are all on time with your income taxes! -Father Jerry Jecewiz

Today is the WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR
