There is a book which details the history of St.
Peter Church, and is titled, Upon This Rock, but it
is no longer published.
However, there is a PDF version of the text (it can
be downloaded or read on -line), and we have

Nancy Givens has volunteered to take up the task
of organizing the history of the parish. If you have

As most of you are already aware, Fr. Bradley Greer has been assigned as parochial vicar here at St. Peter
effective July 1. He will continue with studies at Catholic University and master of ceremonies to the Bishop as well.
If, for medical reasons, you wish to receive only the Precious Blood, please inform the priest or deacon (in the sacristy)
before the Mass. A separate chalice will be consecrated.
During the month of July, Andrew Barnick will be away on vacation. While there will be musical
accompaniment at the 10 a.m. Masses on Sundays, the 4 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday Masses will be quiet; i.e.,
there will be no music.
AIM WOMEN’S CENTER BABY BOTTLE
CAMPAIGN
The Aim Women’s Center will be having their An-
nual Baby Bottle Campaign at our Church. Bottles
are available in the church. Monies raised through
this campaign are used to help support the daily
needs of the AIM Women’s Center, offering free
ultrasounds and pregnancy tests to those in need.

This is an interactive men’s program focused on the develop-
ment of men in the modern world. It combines the best re-
search from science with the teachings of the Catholic faith
and the wisdom of the saints to develop the vision of the saints
to develop the vision of authentic men capable of transforming
themselves, their families and greater society.
The program is divided into two 13 weeks sessions. The Fall
session emphasizes the development of the Scriptural vision of
man, especially in his relationship to his family and society
while the Spring session emphasizes the practical means of
becoming that man.

Women’s Healing Group
12 Step Review
Triumph of the Cross Parish will be offering a step study
healing group for women and those women who wish to
address the addictive elements in their lives. This group
uses the Twelve Steps in a Christian context based on Fr.
Emmerich Vogt - The Twelve Step Review.

CWC News
Meeting for August is cancelled. There will only be a CWC
Board Meeting.

The St. John Neumann Council invites the entire church com-
munity to our Assumption Fest events to be held at:
Holy Family Church, Malara Hall
on Saturday, August 13th.
The dinner will start at 5:00 p.m.. Dinner is chicken, beef,
mashed potatoes, veg., salad, dessert and beverages. Tickets
may be purchased from brother Knights or at the door. After
the dinner, we are planning a coffee house with local musicians
and a Dance from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m.

some activity, perhaps a game for children, etc. Please call GK

~Samaritan House News~
The Samaritan House* is in need of regular food
pantry items: cereal, vegetables, peanut butter, chili,
tuna, pork and beans, fruit, macaroni and cheese,
crackers, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, ravioli, and
soup. You may leave items in the back (front vest-
bule) of the church.
*The Samaritan House is run by the Franciscan
Sisters, TOR of Penance of the Sorrowful Mother.
It is a thrift store and emergency food bank serving
the local Steubenville community. If you would like
to donate items for the thrift store, there is a drop
box behind their building which is located at 424
Washington Street in Steubenville (adjacent to the
Diocese of Steubenville offices). Items for the food
pantry may be left in the front vestibule of St. Peter
Church. As well as the above, the sisters also offer
a daily (when they are open) Bible study, and offer
RCIA classes. In addition, the sisters operate LAMP
Ministry which is a bi-monthly (the 2nd and 4th Sat-
urday, 11 a.m.) catechetical breakfast which is free
and open to the public in the basement of Holy
Name Cathedral.

The Infant of Prague Society of St. Mary’s Church , Martins
Ferry, Ohio will begin the 25th Annual Novena to the In-
fant Jesus of Prague with Benediction. Beginning July 4,
2016 through August 29, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. for nine consecu-
tive Mondays. We would love to have everyone join us for
this prayerful novena.
