December has been a very low key month in St. Pats. The usual Navity plays and trips to the Panto, visits from magicians and carol sing- ers all gone for this year. We sll found a few things we could do to celebrate the season though. Christmas time in St. Patrick’s!

December has been a good bit quieter than in past years the classes and halls are decorated with Christmas displays and lights more than any other year. However the visitors we would normally have in school at this time have been absent this year. The Senior Cycle Oak and Elm classes produced a little video telling us in Lamh why they ‘Love Christmas’. Eric sang a beauti-ful song also. Over on the Junior site the classes visited a Drive Through San-ta at Wheelocks and Santa also paid a socially distanced visit to both school sites with a bit of help from Enniscorthy An Garda Síochána . What better way to end the term, than a trip to the Snow Globe on the Quay in Enniscorthy.

With options for a day out to celebrate Christmas this year few and far between five classes from the Senior site headed down to the Quay to get into the Lifesize Snow Globe. Here are a few pictures of the classes in the Snow Globe.

For the last six years the West Midlands Thea-tre Company have visited St. Patrick’s in Octo-ber to put on a show for our students. Unfortu-nately this year due to Covid19 they were una-ble to visit. There were many disappointed faces when we found out they wouldn't be travelling this year. All was not lost though as they decided to perform an online version of the pantomime Cinderella. So each class had a link to the Show and was able to watch it dur-ing the last week of term. We hope to see them live in school next year.

  • Donations to St. Patrick’s School—Thank you

    • Christmas Masks €1005

    • Wexford County Council €500.00

    • Coin Jar €93.00

    • Jan Fitzpatrick €200.00

    • Amgen €6000

St. Patrick’s would like to thank Caitríona McDonagh and North County Dublin Mental health, Rita Browne and Deirdre Callan who have sown and sold beautiful Christmas masks in aid of St. Patrick’s. By all accounts there wasn't a thimble or thread to be had in the Gorey area after Rita and Deirdre got to work. Please take a well earned rest over Christmas and thank you from all in St. Pats.

    Movember—2020

Our own Mr. Groves grew a fine beard and mustache in November as part of the Movember fundraiser for cancer charities. In spite of everyone wearing a mask Mr. Groves carried on razor free and would like to thank all the staff and parents who supported his fundraising.
