I am from Nigeria, a country in West Africa, bordering Niger in the north, Chad in the
northeast, Cameroon in the east, and Benin in the west. Its coast in the south is located
on the Gulf of Guinea in the Atlantic Ocean
I am a priest of the catholic diocese of Umuahia, in abia state, in the eastern part of
Nigeria. I arrived to the diocese of Rockhampton in the month of May 2018. It has been a
great experience for me to carry out my priestly ministry in the diocese of Rockhampton.
I have shared my priestly and pastoral life with the lovely Christian faith communities at
the central west between August - December 2018 as a supply priest for the parishes of
Blackall and Longreach at different period.
From 5th, January 2019 – 26th, January 2020, I was the administrator at the peak downs
catholic cluster of parishes that comprises the faith communities of Capella, Clermont,
Dysart, Middlemount, Moranbah and Tieri, they are amazing people, lovely and very
supportive.
I am happy to be with you as the administrator of the parishes of Emerald and Springsure
from 27th of January 2020 until Saturday 14th march 2020 as directed by the bishop,
most Rev. Michael McCarthy, bishop of Rockhampton.
Thanks
Matthias Ogwo

THE NICENE CREED
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen
I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame. I will set a feast for them. My hand will save. Finest bread I will provide Till their hearts are satisfied. I will give my life to them. Whom shall I send? Copyright © 1981 Oregan Catholic Press. All rights reserved.

YOU ARE MINE David Haas AOV Vol 2:2
I will come to you in the silence, I will lift you from all your fear. You will hear my voice, I claim you as my choice, be still and know I am here. I am hope for all who are hopeless, I am eyes for an who long to see. In the shadows of the night, I will be your light, come and rest in me. Refrain. Do not be afraid, I am with you, I have called you each by name. Come and follow me, I will bring you home; I love you and you are mine. I am strength for all the despairing, healing for the ones who dwell in shame. All the blind will see, the lame will all run free, and all will know my name. CHRIST BE OUR LIGHT B Farrell
As One Voice Vol 2:3
Longing for light, we wait in darkness. Longing for truth, we turn to you. Make us your own, your holy people, light for the world to see. Refrain: Christ, be our light! Shine in our hearts. Shine through the darkness. Christ be our light! Shine in your church gathered today. Longing for peace, our world is troubled. Longing for hope, many despair. Your word alone has pow’r to save us. Make us your living voice. Longing for food, many are hungry. Longing for water, many still thirst. Make us your bread, broken for others, shared until all are fed.
