NATIONAL CATHOLIC SISTERS WEEK All are welcome to celebrate National Catholic Sisters Week at St. Patrick's Parish on Sunday, March 11!

The celebration begins at 10:00 am Holy Mass, followed by a "meet and greet" gathering in the St. Patrick's School Gymnasium with Catholic sisters from around the San Francisco Archdiocese. We'll enjoy a continental breakfast, as we share this opportunity to learn more about the sisters and experience their joy! Families with children of all ages are especially encouraged to attend! MEET A SISTER. BE INSPIRED.

Rediscover Your Marriage – Retrouvaille (pronounced retro-vi with a long i) simply means “rediscovery.” The program offers the chance to rediscover yourself, your spouse, and a loving relationship in your marriage. 10’s of 1000’s headed for divorce have successfully saved their marriages by attending. Retrouvaille is not a spiritual retreat, not a sensitivity group, not a seminar, not a social gathering. For confidential information about, or to register for the program beginning with a weekend on April 13 – 15 call (415)893-1005 or email: [email protected] or visit the web site at www.HelpOurMarriage.org

PRAYER LIST

If you have someone you would like to include, please contact the Parish Office.

LEARNING TO PRAY THE LITURGY OF THE HOURS The Liturgy of the Hours (sometimes called The Divine Office) is intended as the prayer of the whole People of God; while clergy, monastics, and members of other orders are obligated to pray parts of the Office, all the faithful members of the Church are encouraged to participate in this beautiful practice, which the Catechism describes as being “..so devised that the whole course of the day and night is made holy by the praise of God.” The upcoming season of Lent, as we prepare for and anticipate the Paschal Mystery, seems like an ideal time to learn about the history of the LOH, and to learn how to pray it. With that in mind, we would like to offer a series of seminars and practice sessions with the goal of teaching and promoting the praying of the Liturgy of the Hours. It is hoped that this effort will support individuals in the enhancement of their prayer-lives, increase awareness of this practice, and act as a catalyst for interest in other aspects and initiatives in the spiritual life of our community. St. Anselm Parish will be holding five weekly sessions during Lent, followed by a sixth follow-up session following Easter. In order to attract the greatest number of participants, it is possible the each section might be presented in a morning or afternoon time as well as an evening time. Another alternative would be to hold sessions immediately following a Mass on Sundays. Following the training, the goal would be to meet as a group on a regular basis (monthly?) and pray Morning or Evening Prayer together. If you are interested in participating in these sessions, please email Deacon Robert Meave ([email protected]) with your contact information. Please include your parish name, and the session time most convenient for you (Weekday Morning, Afternoon, or Evening, or Sundays @11;15).

From Archbishop Cordileone: “Your support of the Archdiocesan Annual Appeal changes lives.

The theme for this year’s Annual Appeal is 'One Body, One Christ.' In addition to changing lives, the AAA provides a unique opportunity for each of us to collaborate with our fellow Catholics as 'One Body' in the eighty seven parishes of the Archdiocese. Together, we are able to offer significant support to such varied and critical needs as parish ministries and schools, clergy, young adults, social ministries, ecumenical efforts, and the greater Church.

As Catholics, we are united in knowing that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ and that we are empowered to use our unique gifts and talents to serve others. We do so through our support of the Annual Appeal, and the vivid demonstrations of support and faith that I witness are a great source of inspiration to me and my ministry.

With my gratitude for your continued support of our Archdiocese, and with my prayerful best wishes.”
