St. MINIONS‘A Chick-Flick With A BIG KICK’

A Film by Elise Franklin & George Brewer

Genre: Action BBFC Certificate: 12A

Introduction

• Our Project is an Action film aimed at women.

• For this reason, we decided to put it across as an ironic spin on typical, cheesy Chick-Flicks such as St. Trinians (of which the title is derived). This will make the film different as it is exploring an alternative perspective to Action films, and making it appeal to women.

Story

• The story will follow a group of nerdy, ‘dweeby’ girls who have left their previous schools due to being bullied.

• In the girls’ new school (the main setting) they will become minions to their new mentor, who is going to teach them how to fight crime, and be shaped into unlikely tough outlaws like Hit-Girl (from Kick-Ass).

• The themes of this film will include violence and revenge. Conventions for this genre will be demonstrated through fast, action-packed scenes, such as various chases.

Characters

• The main cast will consist of the group of outcast girls, their mentor, and an extremely dangerous rival to the school who is determined to destroy their system, in order to protect her chain of gangs and illegal dealers.

• The group of girls will consist of stars such as Megan Fox, Mila Kunis, Ashley Tisdale and Anna Farris. The mentor will be played by Richard Ayoade, and the school’s rival by Jane Lynch.

Cast• The Actresses chosen for the girls were

selected because they typically appear as the popular girls that all the guys want, therefore it would be ironically comedic for them to be portraying, at first, complete losers. This will create interest for the audience straight away.

Cast• Similarly to the selection of the girls’ cast,

Richard Ayoade would portray the mentor as he is typically a bit of a nerd, but in this case would be the tough guy showing the girl’s the ropes of kicking ass.

• Jane Lynch would be cast as the evil rival to the whole scheme partially because of her portrayal of Sue Sylvester in Glee, however in this case she would be presented as more of a textbook, rough Action Movie villain.

• The generally popular cast members will draw attention to the film, particularly the girls, whose unconventional characters may add to the interest also.

• As for marketing, a trailer for the film could be shown in cinemas before Action films and Chick-Flicks, as it brings the two genres together.
